Problem with Redux repaint kit

I originally posted this in the Repaint forum but I'm thinking it really comes under support. Didn't know how to actually move the post so here is the link:

viewtopic.php?f=76&t=9391

You can easily see the issue, better seen in the black version but the blank white is unmodified, just saved as dds files. The left wing/elevator do not match.

Any thoughts?

Thanx!

I put a reply in the original one now that I saw it :)

Did you just pick one of the dirt layers and copy it to all the others or did you actually modify it somehow? I have one file, the ext_06.psd file, that's out of sync with the rest. I guess I can just try copying one of the dirt layers from another file and see what happens.

Thanx,

Vic

I changed the layer opacity. Now that I thnk about it, I maybe changed teh layer blend mode too. But basically, just make sure they're the same across PSDs and it should look right.

tried copying several layers but no change and I don't have enough knowledge to make anything more than a guess.

oh you shouldn't have to copy any layers, just adjust the opacity and maybe blend mode on the dirt layers.

Here's mine from the top (pod doors are open - its in ModelConverterX and I scrubbed forward so teh control surfaces are neutral)

well still have the problem. If I use the ModelConverterX, it shows properly BUT when I load P3D - same problem - left wing and elevator are slightly darker and less reflective.

Dang, idk then? The specular and bump maps look ok - same colors on both wings. I looked to see if theres an alpha channel on them, but there isn't.

I guess I do see it in P3D if I look straight down on it; I never noticed from the side angles. rats. :'(

It's very subtle in the lighter colors but in darker colors especially the black it is really noticeable. It's sort of like the difference between a high gloss and a satin finish.

3DReach http://3dreach.com/portfolio/12-fsx/48-310r-redux The problem even appears on their website. Perhaps someone should give 'em a bell.
