Garmin 530 no show

Just purchased and installed last week. Everything seems to be okay except for The Garmin530/430 which has a black screen. I installed this through MVAMS, made sure everything was turned on and hit the on button on the unit - nothing, it doesn't activate/light up, the screen stays black. I tried a couple of other units but no luck there either, so I'm at a dead end. Somebody help me here please. Thanks

Which 530/430 specifically? Milviz, Flight1, or RXP?

Not sure Jonathan, it's in the MVAMS list to select from (Garmin530/430) at the top, so I assume it's Milviz

You sure you are using the Redux AMS module? Does it say Cessna 310R Redux at the top? Because the very first garmin selection in the dropdown list is the Flight1 GNS430(x2) here.

Okay, I was a bit vague, but my point remains: the default and default_WX options
are simulated "Garmin" units and the only ones supplied with the installed package. Any attempt to use Flight1 or RXP will require a separate purchase from those developers.
If one doesn't own any of those, then the screens will indeed remain black...
Perhaps we should have labeled them "Default GNS530/430" and "Default GNS530/430_WX" to remove any ambiguity.

Yep. The confusion on my part is on what Garmin unit Don is actually using, or whether he loaded the right AMS module.

Sorry guys I apologise, got a bit confused the unit installed is the Flight 1 GNS530/430 as per MVAMS and at the top it says Cessna 310R Redux.

Sorry not sure what you mean by "own" the F1 units. I was under the impression that the 310R came with the F1 units as that is where I purchased it from

I'm afraid the F1 units are a separate purchase - from the
F1 310 redux page:
Please note that compatibility for the above gauge packages includes support for installation and setup of our product only; use of any of the offered options requires a functional existing installation of the appropriate gauge. In addition, any gauges we list compatibility for are not included with the MilViz 310R Redux.

Thanks mate, yep I'm learning all the time. Different developers different strokes - as they say.
For those following my delima, I have the GPS working - by selecting the default.
