310R install issues

Greetings,

I just purchased the 310R for P3Dv4 intending to integrate it with the F1GTN750. It installed perfectly then I tried integrating the GTN and had issues with the integration. I finally uninstalled the aircraft and moved on to the B55. Was able to get that installed and running perfectly with the GTN 750. I went back to work on the 310R and found I am now having issues installing the aircraft. The installs are successful but when I try and fly the aircraft with P3Dv4 the aircraft seems to load and I get an engine noise but the screen is black and the sim shuts down with a P3Dv4 not responding message. Taking a wild guess I believe that the issue may be a result of the number of installs and uninstalls I had to do to in an attempt to resolve the problem.

Can you please help me with this?

Chuck, you should not "try to integrate the GTN or GNS gauges. They are already pre-configured precisely to work with the C310R Redux.

Please uninstall and reinstall and do nothing else. The .ini file and the panel.cfg files are ready to go without making any changes to any files.

I’m simply trying to load the aircraft and that’s when I get the black screen and then P3dv4 stops responding. I can’t even get to the GTN part.

After this post, I was dong a little research and is the new version of the 310R designed to work with P4Dv4.1 only? I’m still on P3Dv4.0. Could that be the problem?

Hi Chuck, no only 4.2 is supported officially (see product page). Its nonetheless working without problems in 4.1 and I don't know why it should not work in 4.0 (even trueglass and light are 4.x). It sounds like a messed up install on your side. I would suggest you do a uninstall / fresh install with the redux only using the latest installer and set the radio/gps options via mvams only! And ensure that you use the non wx setups first for testing. At least for 4.1 you need a full wx install to have it working properly. For 4.2 the inbuilt wx is working fine.

I have literally done the install/uninstall about 9 times with the same result.

I do not use the weather.

There have been more than a few updates made (posted in this forum), with the latest having been made late yesterday afternoon.

Look on your desktop for this icon
At the end of the installer, several additional popups are presented to install RealLights, install TrueGlass, the MVAMS utility, and lastly the PDF manual.

MVAMS is where you select which avionics packages you wish to run, as well as the "Cold and Dark" option.

Yup, that sure was a big help. The manual does not tell me why I’m experiencing my current problem. If I got it to load without the GTN once then it should have loaded again. Right? It hasn’t. That’s why I sought help here.

you MUST use the mvams to load the GTN units. Failure to do so will make it not work... You may even end up having to reinstall your sim.

Just reinstalled the 310 per the instructions. Everything seemed to go perfectly. Tried to load the aircraft in P3Dv4 and same problem. P3D screen black and then the sim shuts down. All the other aircraft work including your B55 that I recently purchased and loaded with the F1GTN750. Just did a flight and it is awesome!!!!!!!!!!

The only other thing I can do is upgrade my P3D to 4.2 I just need to find out if I can jump from P3Dv4 to P3D4.2 or do I have to do an incremental upgrade with the updates between the two. I do not want to reinstall the entire sim for 1 aircraft that is not working.

Gah...

No wonder you’re having issues. This product doesn’t support anything but the latest v4.

To be clear, no more support is given until you update to the latest version.

It’s clear on the sales site about this.

You can go from v4.0 to v4.2 directly. You do not need to install v4.1 at all.

Just an update to my original post asking for help. Updated P3Dv4 to P3Dv4.2 and the 310 works perfect now with the GTN and it is simply beyond fantastic. I apologize for being a little behind the power curve when it comes to computer issues and that's because I am a little behind the power curve.

I appreciate all the replies and help and am now beyond happy that I have the 310R working. I also have the new B55 with the GTN and that works equally as well. Can't decide which one is my favorite.

Milviz, you probably make the best add flight sim aircraft out there. Keep up the good work.
