Vertical speed gauge shows wrong values?

Hi,
could not find anything posted to this topic so far. When I set autopilot vertical speed to a climb of 500 ft/min (altitude hold armed), vertical speed gauge shows 400 ft/min. With a stopwatch I found out that aircraft has correct climb speed. This relative error is not the same for different climb and sink rates.
Cheers

So, you’re saying that the reading is approximate?

Hi,
this is no major issue for me, no hurry.
It confused me to read 400 when I commanded 500 ft/min. For a 1000 ft/min climb, it shows 900.
I wonder what happens when I fly without autopilot and fly a climb/descend of 500 ft/min. Regarding the real sink rate, I get an error of 20% then ?
I have no exact overview which relative errors I get for various climb/sink rates so far.
Cheers
Rudi

This shows readout after autopilot commands 500 ft/min and has established a steady state

Re-calibrated the VSI. Thanks for the squawk, Rudi!
