AP GPS coupling problems
Hi all,
posted on the avsim already but for consistency moving to the correct official forum now:
The following is observed on p3d v4.1. It was confirmed by a friend in our VA for the F1 GTN.
GPS Default and following the AP manual instructions I turn heading to an interception course, pressing NAV button shows up NAV arm and when reaching the GPS course it turns correctly on the new course and switching to NAV only. Thats working fine like expected. Check.
F1 GTN: Same procedure, but even hitting the NAV button does not change anything. AP stays on HDG active and thats it. Not working.
RXP GNS: Same procedure, NAV arm comes on but when intercepting the course it goes to NAV but doesn't follow the GPS track. Not working.
So three different GPS setups, three different behaviors.
Perhaps someone could have a look on this please?
Otherwise what a marvelous plane. I've flown the old one quite regular but this one is a real great thing! Kudos Milviz.
Cheers
Thorsten

KAP in the C310 (HSI version) uses standard FS NAV autopilot's mode. If it works in default GPS, must work in the other units, as F1/RXP both claim their products to be full compatible with standard autopilot modes,
It's probably a config issue with both units. Anyway I will try to check it as soon. Which sim version do you have?

Sim Version: p3d v4.1
Redux: v3.180313
If you need more info or if I can check/help something just drop me a line...

The 19-page manual for the KAP 140 alone included in the package is extraordinary in itself and far beyond the efforts of several competitors. I'm still muddling through the manual and mention it in case you may not have been aware. No problems here experienced with the KAP 140.

4.1 is NOT supported. You will HAVE to update.

Les, if you would have read my initial posting you would have stumbled about [...] following the AP manual instructions [...]. I'm aware of them and read the documents and hell yes, Milviz is providing a very good set of documentation. I did not moan about it in any way.Les Parson wrote:The 19-page manual for the KAP 140 alone included in the package is extraordinary in itself and far beyond the efforts of several competitors. Re: AP GPS coupling problems
You say your AP is depending on version v4.2? None of the other involved components has issues with v4.1. IF it is so I would be very surprised cause afaik 4.2 did not change basics and was more following the VR hype and adding content stuff. I will wait for Tom's feedback and if needed update next week. BUT to be honest I don't think that it will fix the issue in any way. I know and appreciate your direct way of communication but you have to expect the same from my sideKrazycolin wrote:4.1 is NOT supported. You will HAVE to update.

Hi guys,
I can confirm that I have the same problem in P3Dv4.2 the GTN won't follow the GPS course.

I didn't say that. What I did say (and what is clear on the sales sites) is that we do not provide support for 4.1. You must update to the latest version or you will not be getting support.
That's how it works. We cannot test in all the different versions available. So we do the latest and that's it.
Your choice but we cannot help you if you don't update.

Re: AP GPS coupling problems
@Les, are you using the F1 units? If so, mind posting your configs here? We're pretty sure it's all working properly but...
Please try using the default GPS units. If that works, then the problem is on your side.

Re: AP GPS coupling problems
Ok, as Ruud posted above the same error is in a v4.2 install. So honestly I will wait for a fix then and test if it works in v.4.1 too.Krazycolin wrote:I didn't say that. Re: AP GPS coupling problems
Try using the default (or MV) units. If it works there, then it's a config issue and likely not our issue. Please try this.

Re: AP GPS coupling problems
Yes and I'm somewhat reluctant to admit this is in P3DV4.1. I'm a bit confused about a few things between V4.1 & V4.2 unrelated to AP. To be fair to the original post, I think I should start a fresh post. Do you agree?Krazycolin wrote:And it's working fine?
