minor issues (license, thumbnail, panel.cfg, MVAMS, wheels)

Post by ThomasAH » Fri Mar 16, 2018 5:50 pm

I'm usually not a fan of multiple issues in one post, but I did not swamp this forum with five threads about these minor issues before checking back with you. Feel free to ask me to create separate threads.

Yesterday I installed the C310R Redux version 20180313 and I'm very happy with it.
The following is a list of five minor issues I found:
  1. license text during install contains something like "Copyright 2018-2028" and "Windows XP/Vista/7, DX9" (I don't have the exact wording right now)
  2. The thumbnail for the N310C livery is the wrong one (was OK in the downloadable repaint for the non-redux version): texture.N310C/thumbnail.jpg is identical to texture.CGTER/thumbnail.jpg
  3. panel/Panel.cfg right after installation is different from all other files inside the PanelConfigs directory. It is very similar to PanelConfigs/MV_GNS530_430_Panel.cfg, but this may cause support requests if something works differently. For example it contains "gauge00=MV_WX!WX, 0,0,1016,1024" even if it should not include a weather radar (but it is not visible).
  4. in MVAMS: when GPS Variant "Default" is selected, I need to select "Default WX" twice before it stays active.
  5. outside view: All three wheels are turning without the aircraft actually moving when on the ground, parking brake set, and applying full throttle

I've updated the license.txt file (found in the root folder).

The panel.cfg that is found in the panel folder should not cause a problem with the WX gauge entry, as the console_MV_530_430_wx gauge is also being loaded. This should cause the MV_GNS530, MV_GNS430, and WX Radar to be displayed in the VC on first load.

I've never noticed the wheels turning myself as I've never looked. In any case, that is likely because in order to prevent creeping when parking break is set, I'm freezing latitude, longitude, and attitude. As soon a the parking break is released, those three restrictions are removed.

I'll check on the thumbnail.

No, "gauge10=Console!console_MV_530_430" is loaded (not _wx), and no WX Radar is displayed in this situation.

I already wondered why there is no creeping, but that explains it. No creeping is better then fixing the turning wheels :)

Thanks, this is actually the biggest problem on this list for me, because I always used the N310C livery in the past and now have to look very closely to get the correct one :)

It doesn't matter though, because the WX 3d isn't displayed, the WX won't load anyway, so there's really no problem. In any case, I've now fixed the issue.

Well, you probably shouldn't be standing outside when the throttles are at max anyway, it's kind of dangerous, no? :o

Thumbnail is replaced.
