WX radar stays on with battery/avionics switches in off pos
Not a big deal, but should the WX radar be tied to the avionics bus?
Thanks,
Jason

Yup. Isn't it?

No, it appears to be completely independent of the battery. With the battery off you can turn the WX on. The test pattern displays as well as radar returns. If you then turn on the battery & avionics switch the image in the radar display changes (brighter grid and range info appear).
Also with the battery off, if you turn on only the avionics switch, the background on the "NAV1/NAV2" data display (below the clock) changes to an "on state" (without displaying any data, but does change it's background to solid black instead of reflective black).
One other power issue I am having... I have selected "Load Cold and Dark State" in MVAMS, but the aircraft loads powered and running anyway.
Thanks,
Jason

We've fixed the WX on issue... the Cold and dark... we're trying to find the problem... It seems to be a tad intermittent...

Great, no problem... love the aircraft!
Two more power related questions / observations...
The rotary selector knob on the "NAV1/NAV2" data display is the only illuminated object in a cold & dark state.
The instrument, radio, switch panel lights are also currently independent of the master battery... For all I know this could be correct. In the real world, are the panel lights separate from the battery switch or should they turn off when the battery switch is turned off?
Thanks,
Jason

Some are on the "Hot Battery Buss", otherwise the cabin floods wouldn't turn on when the pax door is opened.jspringe wrote:The instrument, radio, switch panel lights are also currently independent of the master battery...
