Led indicators and ADF

Post by =JLP= » Sat Jan 05, 2019 12:21 pm

Hi,

P3D V4.4
Nvidia RTX 2080.

1)When pressing the indicator (Low fuel L & R) or LH AUX or RH AUX there is no light (amber color) except for the LH AUX ...Both ALT FAILURE work same for the gear indicators.

2) I 'm not able to make My ADF works....the green needle allways stays at 3 o'clock.

Any Idea ?

Regards.

Or people are busy/distracted by other things :)

Do you have v3.180904 SP4.0 installed?

Does the ADF work in the same location on the same frequency with default aircraft?

ADF works in the same location with the Milviz DHC-2, even with the Saitek FIP.... :-)

Jean-Luc, I've just finished testing the C310R Redux in P3D and have found no problem with the indicator lights. They all illuminate (if not already illuminated) when "clicked" on.

I've also tested the ADF at KDBL (Bradley International) tuned to the GBL beacon: 395.0 KHz. The 'green needle' is pointing directly to the NDB as expected.

So, please tell me precisely where it is that it is not working for you so I can check that location on my system.

I'll check every light and tell you (english is not my native tong, so It might be a difficulty for me) what I have found.

For the ADF : I'm 100% sure that it stays at 9 o'clock on the C310R....even though My saitek FIP shows me the good bearing.
For the indicators: I'll come back later when I've check every thing. I'll try to make some screens prints.

Regards.

Did you select the ADF frequency on the FIP or in the aircraft VC?

Thomas asks a good question. Are you tuning the NDB frequency from the ADF radio in the VC? That's the only way I can guarantee that it's being tuned properly.

Hi,

The NDB Freq is tuned from the VC. (the FIP is just a confirmation)
I made pic from the same place (PAYA).....in the C310 and in the DH-C2.....

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dq-4GO ... sp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SOS6FX ... sp=sharing

Even though the NDB is not indicating the direction, The morse code can be heard when pressing on the radion ADF button ...

Regarding the LED indicators, I was not abble to recrate the problem (There was an update from Nvidia which might correct this problem)

I'll keep you informed if it happens again.

As you can see, on my machine the green ADF needle is pointing correctly. This is using the "Default" 3d avionics + WX Radar. I can confirm that for some unknown reason, the default FSX/P3D ADF radio is not steering the NDB needle though. Since that is a "default" sim version, I cannot 'fix' it. I suggest that you use the custom 3d version of the avionics:

Hum....and what is the "custom 3d version of the avionics"....?

The very FIRST choice in the MVAMS dropdown box, labled "Default".

The second choice is "Default WX".

Thank you for the answer..
I choosed the settup you mentionned. It works.....But I do not want to use this setup...I want to stick to the "old" radio...

My understanding is that there is no solution if I want to use the "classic" radio stack. I'm disapointed. I would be good to have a demo version prior to purchasing...(My two cents).

Well, we certainly don't want you to be disappointed, so I spent some more time investigating this and have found a way to legally engineer a solution for this specific problem. You see, I cannot modify any of the Microsoft "gauges" legally, but I can modify any of the Milviz files. Specifically, I have made a tiny modification to our "Console" files that will establish a connection to the ADF needle for any other ADF radio when using the "Free Radio" panel options.

Unzip the attached files into your sim's ..\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_C310R\panel\Console folder and overwrite the existing files:
