XML tool error during install
Hi guys,
Sorry to bother you, but I have an issue when installing the C310R Redux in P3D V4.2
At the end of the setup I have an error message about XMLTools and the fact that it cannot locate my DLL.XML
It is exactly the same issue as mentioned on this thread:
https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/5115 ... r-message/
Problem is that apparently, there is a link for a solution, but it is in the beaver forum which I cannot access as I don't own this plane.
Could you please point me in the right direction ?
FYI, I only have windows defender as an antivirus, I tried diabling it during setup, I have my P3D folder excluded and I ran the setup as admin.
Best regards.

Re: XML tool error during install
Please make sure you have the XMLtools for the sim version you are running enabled during install .
XMLTools.dll will be in the main fs or p3d folder and there should be an entry in DLL.xml found in \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX
It should read as follows:
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>
If not, run the XMLtools installer inside the aircraft folder for the sim in question (xmltools_201 installer.exe is for FSX).
Go to your user's AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v{version number} or AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ folder and check whether DLL.XML is present or not.
If it is not, and you have other users defined in your machine, go to each one's AppData\Roaming folder and check that DLL.XML is present in either Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v, or Microsoft\FSX\ (depending on platform).

Re: XML tool error during install
Just to be clear, the actual installer will be found in the root folder of any of the Milviz aircraft that utilize this program. There is a unique installer for each of the sim versions that are supported, so the filename also is unique to each platform and version.
The aircraft installer will load and run whichever version matches your sim choice.

Re: XML tool error during install
Thanks for your answers.
Actually the XMLtools64.dll was present in my P3dv4 root folder, but for some reason, but the corresponding lines had not been added to my dll.xml.
For some reason the xmltool installer was not able to locate my dll.xml, so I added the lines manually and it seems to start perfectly as I have the C310 menu line in p3dv4.
Many thanks again for your help.
As a side note, I might have found a small bug regarding Magneto's. I'll start a separate post so as not to mix things up.

Re: XML tool error during install
Just out of curiosity, did you by any change manually change or move P3Dv4.2 such that the Registry no longer has the correct paths?

Re: XML tool error during install
No I did not move my install.
This is curious as other add ons like active sky were able to find and edit my dll.xml without issue.
Nevertheless, thanks to your fast answer I was able to be up and running fairly quickly !
