p3dv42 crash to desktop

Post by Tozzifan » Sat Apr 07, 2018 3:53 pm

Hello,
on win10+P3dv42 I've started setting up the huge Return to Misty Moorings scenarios, and started flying the Orbx PAKT area, with your beautiful Beaver

since then I've started to suffer crashes to desktop (no error messages), in the range between one and ten minutes after takeoff

I tried deactivating everything, yet crashes were still happening

at last, I've tried switching planes, using Carenado's Cessna Centurion and Lionheart Quest Kodiak, and no crashes happened since then (I guess the sim is working good overall, as it stays on for even eights hours with a PMDG full flight)

so I am asking whether you are possibly aware if any interference that might cause this, concerning your product (I am not even sure, so far, that Return To Misty Moorings has a role in this, I will do more trials out of that scenario, and report more)

thanks

If you go to your windows event viewer and under the error log scroll down to the report for the crash there should be faulting module and other data we could use to narrow down the cause , please paste it here in reply

Perhaps try a flight outside the scenery area and see if that still crashes the sim using the beaver.

If you are using addon software like F1 panels or the weather radar assess the scenario that CTD's using the base panel .

Thanks

Best CJ

Are you using the WX?

ok I'll do more tests with different scenarios and report back, thanks (no F1 panels; WX advantage radar: or course, yes)

@Krazycolin
yes, I also have the separate tool (purchased from FlightSimStore) for separate use with other aircrafts, yet I have used it only with the Beaver built-in module, in this scenario ... I will do some flights without turning it on and report

are you perhaps suspecting something related with this other thread from me ? : http://milviz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=133&t=8792

They are very likely related.

Hello again, Milviz guys

after a gazillion trials, my findings about my CTDs tell that

- REX Sky Force weather engine crashes the sim, regardless of scenario; I have to use it only to inject textures
- WXAR crashes the sim too, yet not regularly; sometimes, to resolve it, I had to delete Prepar3d.cfg, more than to simply deactivate it in MILVAM

my feedback

Unzip this into your panel folder and see if it resolves the WX crashes at least. Make sure there are no WX dlls in your gauges folder, unless you have the full WXAdvantage product from REX. If you do, ask REX for the latest.

hello,

it looks like that, with this patch, the Beaver is flying without crashes, so far

I have exactly the same Problem. I use the WX, but the MV_WX.dll 1.40.0.40 does not solve the Problem...

Unzip this then to the path that is mentioned in the crash report.

After a few flights i can say: No CTD until now, looks pretty good :P

Is this Version 1.40.0.41 also usable in the 310R?
