MVAMS Update

Post by jacknife » Wed Sep 06, 2017 12:59 am

Could someone please tell why the Milviz Addon Management System keeps telling me that an update is available when I already have installed the dhc-2 version 170828 several times plus the latest Spray and Play version. I have deleted the aircraft and expansion pack before each reinstall. Using Windows 10 and FSX Steam.

Thanks
Jack

It would only do so if a more recent version file was found on the server , this file is also found on your machine in AppData\Local\MVAMS\Versions\DHC2\DHC2.xml the latest should look like this if opened in notepad

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<Properties>
<Version>1.1.0.19</Version>
</Properties>

If it says 1.1.0.18 that's a previous version being installed somehow .
To turn that off you can delete that file and you will not be notified

Hello
CJ... I meant version 170829 was installed along with the Expansion pack v1.170619. I just checked the version following your instructions and it shows as version 1.1.0.16 which is not the latest. I am confused. How can I fix this?

Everything was working fine from the original install from the website. I then received an email mentioning an update and the expansion pack....which I purchased and installed..... after deleting the original first. Then each time I ran the MVASM it indicated a newer version to download.... the last one was 170829. I keep getting the message to download a newer version still.

Note:
I selected Ready to fly ...the F1 GNT750 in the MVASM and flew the Beaver with two very strange results.

From Free Fight ... default Cessna....changed to Beaver...After startup of the Beaver and opening the F1GTN 750 I used the drop down menu....Views... to select the pop up window display of a larger F1 GTN 750. 1) After awhile the large gnt 750 stopped being usable. Mouse could not select anything on it but the small panel one would. I learned when this was going to happen. When working properly the panel gtn 750 would go blank,when the pop up was open. When it stopped working the panel gtn 750 would be visible.

2) After about five minutes my computer would start to make a warning sound...like something was being opened or needed to be ok 'd to continue. Windows sounds. Opened default cessna and warnings sounds stopped.

Any ideas

Jack

If you use FSUIPC and have p3d v3 or less or FSX then the warning sound is your aim running out of VAS. Pete Dowson implemented that some time ago. I believe when you go below 1gig of vas he chiming starts to give you time to save before the inevitable out of memory crash.

That could explain any weird behavior as well... no RAM available is never good. Just checked in v4... I just used 70gigs. Woot. That's far off from the 4 you can have in v3 :)
