Beaver Paintkit

Post by elysium79 » Tue Aug 29, 2017 1:45 pm

Hello Milviz Team
Great product on the Beaver and congrats!

Two questions:

- I downloaded the new paintkit and wanted to port-over my existing 3 repaints.
However I can't get the color right / matching in the beaver_ext_2.psd as the texture layer to apply the color to is not separated, so to apply colour to it I have to use a multiply layer or an overlay, but then the colour will be off, the layer is named "dirted". How do I do that so the colour matches with the other paintkit?

- The other issue I am having is that in the main texture folder in the dhc2 milviz folder where the base texture folder is, there is a 09_spec.dds file which overlays in all paints, I think it should not be here as it depicts a specific livery and not a general spec file? Whats the purpose of that spec file 09?

Thank you much
Best regards
Stephan

A couple suggestions. You may find it easier to copy the parts from 'beaver_ext.dds' and paste on 'beaver_ext_2.dds'.
A replacement '09_spec.dds' is in 'beaver_c-gfrx.zip' at flightsim.

Hi WS, okay thanks I will try that and copy over from the original pk, hope the alignment works. thanks for this!

I assume this will be fixed in the future as the end user does not know this info so the current 09 spec is always present...

Well, unfortunately, alignment is a bit of an extra challenge when copying and pasting from 'beaver_ext.dds' to 'Beaver_ext_2.dds'. The elevators and ailerons need to be stretched a wee bit horizontally and then vertically. All part of the fun!
