Prop spinner toggle P3Dv4

Post by Adamski_NZ » Mon Aug 14, 2017 3:08 am

I have one livery/variant that doesn't require a spinner. However - there's no way that I can find to toggle it to "No spinner". In P3D, it cycles between "rounded" and "pointed" only - and setting it in MVAMS has no effect.

Also - and this is a *bug* IMHO: whenever you save the settings in MVAMS, it overwrites any "model=1" lines with "model=", so any variants I have set up for that model get set to the wrong one.

The MVAMS no spinner option is only on the 2 bladed propeller , three bladed props all have spinners.

If the AMS is set for passenger it will overwrite cargo and vice versa , setting the AMS will write all versions of the DHC2 aircraft.cfg installed in all supported sims , it does not set individual models separately.

Chuck I can only put the rounded spinner on the two bladed prop not the pointed one.Is that as it should be.

I can put both spinners on the 3 bladed prop. This is in FSXA.

Hi Chuck,
The inability to install the pointed spinner on the two bladed prop affects all models.

I am sorry to have to report that the problem with the inability to install pointed spinner on the two bladed propeller persists.

It worked for one session with FSXA when I reinstalled the update but after shutting down my PC and restarting the fault is still there.

Do you see a copy of the amsinterop in the base aircrafts panel folder , i wonder if the amsinterop got quarantined myself . Is anything in the addons menu in game ? .

Hi Chuck,
Yes AMSInterop.dll is in the panel folder. In the addons folder various DHC2 options. The cold cover works, the tie downs and chocks do not.The DHC2 addons only appear in the addons menu when I select the DHC2.
Where next?

I still imagine a dll is no longer there and would ask that you look in your AV programs quarantine list to see if DHC2.dll is there , its intriguing that it works after a fresh install , restarting resurrected the issue.
Barring the aircraft being put in another folder than V4's simobjects and in consequence the directories are then no longer valid , I would you reinstall install both and determine if those results can be duplicated , Norton AV on my sim machine is constantly zapping .exe's and dll's , I am continually putting exclusions on new exe's and .dll's a total PITA .

Hi Chuck.
Thanks for the reply.Nothing in my quarantine and AMSInterop.dll in my Huey and F100 as well as the DHC2
File sizes as follows F100 622kb,Huey 602kb and DHC2 593kb.Heigh ho what next?By the way this is FSXA not P3D.

Cheers Chris
PS This is no big deal for me just irritating that I cannot get it right.I can live with it if you feel you have exhausted all suspects.

I cant quit on an issue , but do need to confirm a couple of things , that we are talking FSXA shouldn't make any difference if these dlls are in place , the amsinterop is what does the switching of these items its leaving that as the affected element .

You had said its all versions that cant put pointed spinners on , did that include the base version ? can you switch radios ? are any other systems not working like passengers and cargo selection, are you using an addon panel or is it the basic bendix?
Special livery or saved ext models put back in so old repaints work ?

We will find it yet ....
