DHC-2 Beaver Problems After Update "808"
Posted: Sat Aug 12, 2017 8:41 pm
I just got through test flying the different models of the DHC-2 Beaver after the update "808" for the Basic Beaver package and the Expansion Pack. Some of these things may of been identified already and I apologize for that.
DHC-2 Beaver Floats (Amphib):
1. Flap Indicator – Red flap indicator pin does not align with any position on the Black placid behind it.
2. Elevator trim indicator indicates correctly (See indicator problems with other models).
3. Really loud banging sound when the floats are in contact with the water. Tone down this loud
sound effect so we can still hear the Hydro Splash sound effect. Please notice there is no loud banging sound during this takeoff - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okt21QYCyME
4. When the landing gear is accidently left down, there is a tire squeal effect when the tire comes into contact with the water. This effect works for touchdown on a hard runway; but it is incorrect for tire contact with water.
If a float plane lands on water with the gear down the plane usually flips over on it’s back! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-48V1m_MZxE
DHC-2 Beaver Straight Floats:
1. Flap Indicator – Red flap indicator pin does not align with any position on the Black placid behind it.
2. Elevator trim indicator indicates backwards. When you trim nose up the indicator moves nose down. When you trim nose down the indicator moves nose up.
3. Really loud banging sound when the floats are in contact with the water. Tone down this loud sound effect so we can still hear the Hydro Splash sound effect. Please notice there is no loud banging sound during this

4. After takeoff the plane continually wants to climb uncontrollably even with the use of the elevator controls, elevator trim (nose down), and reducing power.
