Autopilot won't engage.

Just installed the latest version. It looks great and I am sure I will add the new kit to it. One small issue is that the autopilot won't engage in this version.

You need to hold the buttons down for a quarter second now , its very by the book , a manual was added for it in your base versions manual folder ,worth a look .

If not the case the model you are using and sim version is helpful for checking out any problems , there are rather a few of these panels and versions.

Thanks Chuck, I did go through the manual. Everything works now except the Alt Arm. If I select, say, 2,000 feet and press the alt arm button, it will climb to that altitude, but then keep going and never engage that altitude. All other functions are fine, like heading. Just a bit stumped.

Cant engage autopilot. i have read the manula from start to the end no sign of any long presses on th knobs?? where did you put the manual??? i have read both of the manuals and still cant find any notice about autopilot. The autopilot doesnt work for me only on the latest expansion pack aircrafts STOL.

Chuck-

With the STOL variant, I get a Altimeter setting in the AP window, and nothing engages for me either....

PS- will the instrument panel REGISTRATION get worked on to sync with the a/c?

Hi
I am also having issues with the new autopilot
Mine is engaging and I can use it to level out the wings and follow a course, however the little red P on the autopilot never goes out. therefore the autopilot has no vertical speed or height functions. This is with P3D V4
I have found that if I get to the desired altitude then hit the Ctrl & Z key the good old altitude hold kicks in.

Thanks in advance if you can help.

Hi,

If your P red light doesn't go off in half a minute reset the AP CB, and it should turn on as expected.
And please do not use CTRL & Z for ALT HOLD. In the manual you can find those shortcut key commands supported by the KAP; any other FS default might bring unrealistic results.

What do you mean by "altitude knob", the altitude preselect?
Tested P3D v4 wheel STOL model and it works as expected.
NAV won't arm if there is no valid station tuned, same as APR or REV
Pitch modes won't engage if red P and dashes are present.

Hi
Thanks Tom
That seams to have done the trick for me, the autopilot appears to be working fine now.
Very much appreciated

Hi
Looks like I spoke a little soon as to the issues with my autopilot being fixed
My problem relate to the pitch Axis Annunciator
My problems are
1/ it never goes out on its own.
2/ sometimes on the ground I have to cut the circuit breaker several times before the little red P will go out
3/ In flight, the slightest turbulence will cause the P to come back on, hence the autopilot loses altitude control. (This is with no weather and default fair weather selected)
4/ No mater what I do I cant get the little P to go out once it has come on (except for landing and tripping the circuit breaker several times).
Is there something that can be done to make this less sensitive.
Please note once I get the little P to go away, the Autopilot works fine until the next (gust of turbulence).
This is with the latest patch and the new add on installed

Thanks in advance if you can help

hi Tom
yes ii'm using standrad milviz 530/430 i cannot set the altitude preset on autopilot the knobs spins but the number is always on 0000 f. All buttons on the autopilot wont work. the click on the button just make some button press sound but nothing will happen. i'm using p3d v4 i reinstalled everything and still it's not working. Olso where can i find manual. There is no word on autopilot in original manual and in extended relese manual? This problem is present only on the STOL variants of beaver all previous beaver planes are working

Similar problem in FSX with the base models; lateral functions work well but altitude arm never captures, just blows through selected altitude even with Alt Arm annunciated.
