Update 1.1.0.16
Last night I updated the Beaver via MVAMS as it indicated a new update was available. I did a complete uninstall and then ran the 1.170619 file. During execution the splash screen indicated version 1.1.0.16 was being installed. I started up the amphibious cargo float model and did a quick check of things. BTW: I use FSX acceleration. The following items were noted:
1. The volumetric look of the propeller (while the engine is running) from an outside cross section view is gone regardless of prop lever position. The prop now looks like a very thin line. The old volumetric look was awesome. Can we get this back?
2. The ADF radio frequency is near impossible to change. The .1s are easy to change, the 10s are really tough to change, and the 100s impossible to change. I tried changing the frequency from the right seat but the click spots are inactive on that view screen. I also could not get the ET or FT to work. This radio needs attention. I am using the no GPS option as I like to fly the old school way and really could use an ADF. For now I will add a 2D popup ADF.
3. The float model is still "sticky" in lifting off water or land (basically an empty aircraft: pilot and full gas only). I have not tried the other models to see if this is just a float model issue.
4. I find the turning radius of this model on the ground to be so wide that I cannot stay on the taxiway when turning. I will adjust the turning radius to my liking.
5. This is more of a user note. Depending on which muffler you chose it is necessary for the user to edit the aircraft configation file to remove the appropriate "flame" effect. Default has both mufflers working so you get two spots showing the exhaust "flame" effect. The flame effect is pretty cool.
This is a great model that I enjoy very much.
