Beaver dhc2 installation
I recently purchased the DHC2 Beaver order number is: JFL6281488BE023B6A7
The problems I am having are
1 The installation reports that although the .XNL tools are installed the DLL.XML is missing.
2 The aircraft appears in the normal FSX Select Aircraft and not in the MVAMS SELECT Aircraft. This panel is blank even though I have other MV aircraft installed
3 The aircraft can be loaded, flown OK and saved BUT
4 Using END FLIGHT results in a FATAL ERROR and the sim crashes.
My system is
i7 930 clocked at 3.74 Ghz with 6 Gb
Nvidea 285 GTx with 1 Gb with Windows7 SP1 home premium.
I use the default Fsx and Acceleration bought about 2006 or 7 with Orbx PNW.
I have never encountered this sort of problem in any of my 70+ quality collection. Perhaps my system is too aged now.
Is this enough information?
I really do hope for help because like so many others I have hoped for a really good Beaver.
Many thanks if you can help
Regards
Michael Parrish

Well I hope I did - certainly the anti-virus. I am disabled with poor eye sight an could have missed an item or so.
Do you want me to start again

Hi Micheal.
I am only a forum member trying to help but I think that would be advisable.Windows defender and UAC can be troublesome as well.
Do not forget to run the *.exe file as administrator,by right clicking on it and selecting run as administrator.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Chris

Re: Beaver dhc2 installation
Thanks for your comment Chris.
Do you think my list of issues is typical in affecting my Installation as described ? I have MV b55 and 310R installed using the same method and with no trouble.
After the installation I ran Defenders scan which was clean and said the computer was working normally.
And now a confession, I have never used a Form before even after all these years and I now feel to be in deep water.
I shall try again but might be some time before I can muster up a helper.

Re: Beaver dhc2 installation
Things to do:
1) disable your AV (and UAC) before you download and install the product.
2) disable scanning of the sim directory by your AV
3) make sure you're running the sim as an admin (right click on the sim icon and choose that)
4) make sure, if you're running P3D, that the estonia tool isn't running
5) make sure that you've got the XML tools properly installed.

Re: Beaver dhc2 installation
Colin he is using FSX Acceleration .
See here the problem.
The installation reports that although the .XNL tools are installed the DLL.XML is missing.
So he needs help to correct his DLL.XML.
Cheers Chris
