VS (vertical spped) control modeled in the A/P?

Seems that the VS control is not modeled in the A/P, but the VS indication is present when pressing the UP/DN buttons. Am I right?.

The AP is not a fully functional device and is, sadly, one of those things that is sold as is.

I believe an aircraft of this type should have things that don't work perfectly. It's the flavour of a decades-old workhorse. Like buying a 1945 Willys Jeep.

I feel like I've used the VS function and it's worked, though I usually just leave it at the default 800fpm. The A/P in general works fine for me.

I gotta say though, this rhetoric about more and more pieces/aspects of this model being sold "as is", and not being fully functional, is not exactly giving me the warm and fuzzies about MV (this is my first experience). It's certainly different from my experience with other payware. Perhaps a detailed list of all these things should be in the product description?

I mean, a fully functional A/P? That comes standard in default planes!

I certainly understand bugs with a new release, and that it takes time to track and squash... but the default answer to anyone's avionics question seems to be along the lines of "oh yeah, we put that in there, but don't expect it to actually work... ;-)

Forget about that list. MV will never do it. They prefer to produce those "nice" answers!.

The aircraft itself will be fully supported and, as far as we can (and will) make it, works as it should.

If there are bugs in the included units that are not technically part of the actual aircraft as it was made, we will see if we can fix them. No promises.

I am not, by nature, nice... really. Not. I am VERY surprised to hear ANYONE say that about me. It's refreshing. A total crock of course but there ya go.

I would also, hardly call it rhetoric. It's more like butt protecting. We really REALLY do not want to be spending time fixing tech that's FS9 standard and all in xml. Really not.

We are, presently, in talks about making a full set of low(er) end nav/comm units that would go into GA aircraft. No promises...

VS does in fact work.

It functions by driving the sim's (>K:AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH) command up or down based on the pilot's setting of the (L:dvspeed, enum) variable.

the real question is
does the KAP 140 unit function like the real unit, especially for ALT/VS mode (VS mode by default after pressing AP then switch between ALT and VS mode by pressing the ALT button) ?

That's the way it should work, but not here (yet, I hope).
