v4: MV GPS frequency swap buttons not working
Hello! The latest release is working fine for me in V4 except for one issue: I can't swap COM or VLOC frequencies on the MilViz GPS (either the 430 or the 530). Everything else works fine, and I can set the inactive frequency, but I am unable to swap the two frequency banks. I tried both 1.1.0.12 and 1.1.0.14 and they have the same problems.
The non-GPS radios work fine.

Re: v4: MV GPS comm swap buttons not working
As previously stated, this type of thing will not be fixed. The code for these is extremely old and... sorry but no.
The alternative is to not put them in at all.
I do apologize but... there you have it.
This info will be promulgated over to the sales site(s) immediately.

Re: v4: MV GPS frequency swap buttons not working
Understood, thanks for the clarification on that. It's unfortunate that they don't work fully, but I get not wanting to spend time fixing ancient code.
Is there any chance we could get the stock GPS units in there, instead? They're not as nice as your custom units, but they should function fully. Although I can understand if that's a lot of work you don't want to undertake, too.
Thanks for posting a notification about this in the sales material, too, btw. Won't help me, but it's good for other buyers to know!

First I have heard about this issue , it may be something that is reparable without code revisions , will need to verify and report
Thank You for bringing this to our attention , I noted that the update wasn't listed among the tested versions but as this is the first report of this the situation may not be resolved.

Had an opportunity to test this and found them to be working perfectly , perhaps shifting your viewpoint with the A key will permit you to be able to click on the buttons without the corner of the throttle pedestal getting in the way of a clean access , these and the on off are hard to get at otherwise .

Re: v4: MV GPS frequency swap buttons not working
Hi Chuck,
I have the same problem as the OP with the comm and nav swap switches.
Also, there is no 2D popup panel of the MV530. Is this by design now?
Tonight, when back home, I will try again if changing the viewpoint can solve this, but I already tried the various 'A' views. And I use TrackIR as well.
If the GPS's remain a problem, could you not make the deault Garmin 500 available as an option please?

The option of using the Default 530 is something the users can do themselves by replacing the MV GNS gauge in the mvgns530_430 panel.cfg with fs9gps .

The default Garmin 500 has no radios at all, so I'm not sure you would be "solving" anything at all, but would be loosing functionality.Eric Bakker wrote:If the GPS's remain a problem, could you not make the deault Garmin 500 available as an option please?

I have not installed it anymore in v4, but I am sure that the B55 has it. I assume it is the same MV530.Krazycolin wrote:There was never a 2D popup in any of our products AFAIK....

True indeed, unless you would add the 500 to the panel with the radios ('none' currently).N4GIX wrote:The default Garmin 500 has no radios at all, so I'm not sure you would be "solving" anything at all, but would be loosing functionality.Eric Bakker wrote:If the GPS's remain a problem, could you not make the deault Garmin 500 available as an option please?

I checked again, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Beaver as admin, but the two 'swap buttons' on the MV530 and 430 do not work on my system. Mind you, I am talking about P3Dv4.
What could be different from your machine?
My P3Dv4 folder is on my SSD non-startup disk (D:).
[edit] When hovering over the buttons the cursor changes to a hand, and when I click these buttons I hear the click-sound. But the there is no swap.

Actually, both the B55 and the C310R have popup panels for the avionics, and yes they are the same instruments.

Thanks for your reply and confirmation.
Can you assist me in copying that part of the panel.cfg to the Beaver, or would it require adaption of the gauges?
Do you know or think that the swap buttons would work in the 2D panel, or would it make no difference?
But it will make it a lot easier to handle the GPS

This should work for you. You may need to change the WindowXX numbers depending on which panel.cfg file you edit:
Code: Select all
[Window Titles]
Window00=Main Panel
Window01=WX Radar
Window02=GPS
Code: Select all
//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window02]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=500,366
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=0
visible=0
ident=GPS_PANEL
window_size= 0.420, 0.460
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000
gauge00=C310_XMLGauges!FBS_GNS530_1d, 0,0,500,366
