Water sounds?
Hello,
I've noticed I have no water splashing sounds related to taxiing, takeoff or landing on water. This is in FSXA. I have a feeling this may be a problem with my sim, not necessarily a Milviz issue, because I seem to remember missing water sounds on another plane at some point.
I was wondering if you could tell me the filenames and path of the water sounds the Beaver uses... and if they're aliased to default FSX sounds, the names / path of those? It'd really help me track this down.
Thanks!

Re: Water sounds?
I checked the manual for a more official avenue for support (ticketing system, email etc) but since the forum looks to be it, I hope it's ok to bump this post. A couple days is probably long enough to reasonably expect at least a response, if this is the official product support medium.
Any progress on this, or at least, acknowledgement? On Win 7, in FSXA, I have no water sound effects while taxiing, taking off or landing. I've found the "water_wading" entry in the sound.cfg and that it points to the standard FSX water sound, I've verified I have that sound and it works, I've placed a copy of that sound in the MilViz Beaver Sounds folder just to be sure, I've tried switching the sounds.cfg entry to a different water touchdown sound from a different seaplane... no luck. No sound at all when touching down or moving on water.
Is this a known issue that will be addressed? I see at least one other person has the same problem. Can anyone with FSXA verify they DO have water sounds?
Thanks!

Re: Water sounds?
Thanks guys. I'll have to see if any of my default seaplanes have sound issues. Glad to hear it's not a Beaver issue... now I just have to figure it out

Are you running accusim?

Re: Water sounds?
Accusim uses the default sound system. So that has nothing to do with it.
I think you mean accufeel, but that also uses the default sound system.

Re: Water sounds?
Well, update: this problem IS just specific to the MilViz Beaver. All my default seaplanes have water sounds (the microsoft beaver and goose). It is only the MilViz Beaver that has no water sounds... so I'm back for help. Ideas?
This is FSXA, on Win7. No accufeel installed. No general accusim installed either, just a couple accusim planes. I'm currently on the latest SP2 Beaver build, though this problem has existed for me on every version that's been released so far. When installing, I disable anti virus, run installer as admin, and get messages of success at the end (xml tools installed successfully, xml.dll entry found). I've verified all my redistributables ( I was missing one, and adding it made most cockpit controls much more responsive, but no change to the lack of water sounds). I do still have an occasional issue where switches in the cockpit are "sticky", in the sense that they want to flip back to their previous position unless I use a really slow, determined click. This seems to be much reduced with the new SP though, and isn't by itself a problem... I only mention it in case it's related.
It's a small issue, but does somewhat tarnish the experience of flying around Southeast Alaska... so I'd really appreciate any help.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat. No water sounds. Running Win 10, 64 bit, latest rendition of the Beaver but not the V4 update., FSX-SE. The fact that some do apparently have water sounds indicates to me that it might very well be something specifically related to my system although I do have water sounds on my other float planes.

Re: Water sounds?
Guess I'll chime in here:
I have p3d v3 and recently 4
milviz beaver on v3 has all sounds including water.
milviz beaver on v4 has no water sounds - all other sounds are working.
aerosoft beaver on v4 has water sounds.
frustrating to say the least.
has to be something system specific but I haven't figured out what yet

Is your FSUIPC the latest version? This may be nothing to do with it but it is worth a try?

Re: Water sounds?
Pretty sure fsuipc doesn't have anything to do with it - anyway I have the most recent v5.101 registered and no water sounds in p3d v4

Re: Water sounds?
Offhand I cant think of a reason it is happening but we will investigate. If there is a way to duplicate the issue most times we can reverse engineer a resolution as well .
