Thanks, but no dice... it won't install because it says a newer version is already installed. So I guess I must have it already.

It was worth a shot. I got the same message (which I knew already):

A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine.

what about that thing where you need C++ for both x86 and also the one for 64 bit? Does this apply here?
