Elevator motion seems limited / Chimes warnings

Elevator vertical (up) travel seems to be small for take-off climb vectors? Really hard to get in the air with out a seemingly long(ish) take-off roll. Is there something wrong or is that the correct model for the real aircraft. This makes any STOL operation really tough to execute... (Aerosoft's version has a very wide up/down travel). Issue in both PVDv4.5 and FSXSE.

Secondly, while flying, I occasionally here a "chime" every 30 seconds or which usually means something is wrong, but I can't figure out what is happening. Sometimes it simply stops, or a flight reset is required.

Thanks for any help?

Hello , I had contacted the systems programmer for the Autopilot , it sounds like its engaged for some reason , there may be some valuable info on the AP in the manuals folder , you might have a keyboard shortcut of something of the sort that is doing that .

Try turning it ( AP ) off and see if its the system involved

Thanks Chuck. This is really driving me crazy. I love having your version of DHC-2, but the elevator issue makes it impossible to take-of and land in P3Dv4 or FSXSE - elevator will not rise above null (up), but easily travels down completely.

1. It doesn't matter if Autopilot is engaged or not. I have also uninstalled and re-installed several times. Other aircraft systems work fine.
2. I have set FSUIPC5 to "Normal Defaults".
3. I have tried Aircraft realism settings for EAsy through Realistic.
4. I am not using a controller (joystick etc) or mouse to steer or operate controls or GPS. Just up/down/left/right keyboard arrows and mouse clicks

That's all I can think off. Ideas? I just know its simply something...

Thanks.

Paul

You definitely need a joystick. In fact it's in the system requirements.
(It doesn't have to be a big investment - I get by with a cheap Logitech)

Nuts! I missed that.
Disappointing as I don't use a yoke/joystick for anything else. I'm a keyboard pilot kind of guy...

Thanks for the info nonetheless...
