Hi Jens,

We are using the same OS...Win10 (Creators Edition).
I've only got the WinDefender AV, which I deactivated too before installation.
as for UAC....my Prepar3d is in the standard folder Program Files x86, but I've made sure that full permissions are given in the way of Admin Rights as well as running everything as Administrator.....and I have set UAC to never notify.

Ah, now we get to what might be the culprit....I do use Shader Tweaks....PTA in fact.

I agree with you about the plane being outstanding....and the light glitch is not a deal-breaker for me either.
I'd like to have the option to fly at night (which I don't at the moment)....but that's not such a big deal.

Thanks for taking the time to contribute to this Thread.
Perhaps this will sort itself out with future updates.
Cheers

Are you absolutely certain there is no FSX.exe in your task manager processes list? I cannot find another reason for Milviz lighting service to be present and yet not functional.

Now it would be interesting if there is someone in the Forum who doesn´t have Problems with lights AND using PTA also. Also important with which Profile in PTA? Because there can be several Shader Settings left untouched in some Profiles.
I am using the Thopat 1.5 Realism Preset and in this Profile nearly everything is checked in PTA.

Jens

Hi Jonathan,

I don´t have FSX installed on my System. It was in the past but I was getting rid of it completely.

Jens

@rapsta Wasn't asking if you do. The Estonia migration tool creates a fake fsx.exe in the processes list that the lighting service latches on to for some reason rather than the Prepar3D executable. This prevents it from working properly. That is why we require that the Estonia tool be disabled in the dll.xml and not just from the UI or such.

Hey JB,

Thanks for your post about the Estonia migration tool.
I didn't know how to disable the Estonia tool in the dll.xml.
Although I had it diabled from its own UI (and fsx.exe was not showing up in the processes listed by the Task Manager after I launched P3D).....I decided to just see what would happen if I uninstalled the Estonia tool entirely.

Well...wonders of wonder.....IT WORKED.

I now have fully functional map, cabin and instrument lighting in the Beaver!!!! (and I didn't do anything to the PTA shaders etc that I use)

PROBLEM SOLVED....Hope this might help anyone else (Jens?) that might be experiencing this issue.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to read this thread and contribute to it......I love the FS community when we are patient with each other and respectful as was the case on this forum.
I appreciate it very much.

Hi Jonathan,

sorry for the late answer. I wasn´t at my flight pc. Now I checked it.
And I must say outstanding!! That did it! Now it is working. Problem was, that I use Simstarter NG and the FSE Tool was hidden at the top of the Simstarter UI and I didn´t see it first. Now I checked directly in the DLL XML and there was this naughty little Estonia Tool entry. Commented it out, and now it works.
Sometimes too many addons can simply more confuse than help.
But thanks to you and your tireless support this is now sorted out.

thanks again and have a nice day,
Jens

When it comes to such tools in the dll.xml, I normally set the ManualLoad key to True. That way when P3D starts it will ask me if I want to run the addon and if I don't want to I just click no.

I am using FSXa and I have read this thread very carefully and have verified that I have exactly the same problem, just not in P3dD,and have found no solution. The "Estonia" solution obviously does not apply to my situation. Looking for any suggestions on how to get the instrument lights to work. I have tried all the suggestions offered in this thread that apply to FSX. HELP! Appreciate any I can get. (Not a newbie, BTW, have been simming for 30 years, but still capable of making dumb mistakes) Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
