Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
Tell me which configuration you are using and I will check the panel cfg......I found two instances where the weather gauge was properly - listed but them commented out - giving the result you have

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
Do you mean the radio configuration? It is the Milviz 530/430 along with the Weather Radar. Once I tried to see if the weather radar would work with the "None" (analog) radio choice but the configurator would not save that as a default configuration. I could check the weather radar box and save, but whenever I would restart the configurator only the None button was checked. I'm guessing there is no room for the weather radar with the analog radios. Nevertheless, I cannot get it to work with the 530/430 Milviz choice, which would be my preferred one.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
Well I can't get it to work either....and that is after correcting the path to the gauge. So don't feel bad....the devs have used a common template for the options...and some of it is wrong.
At the moment I am settling on being grateful Milviz offered the Radar as part of the package....and I trust that at some point they will get it working in all varients properly.
I am going to give it a rest for today...and just concentrate on flying the beast...and trying to land without bunny hopping down the runway.
Sorry I wasn't able to find a fix for you.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
The reason the WX gauge is supposed to be in the panel folders and not the gauges folder is because the gauge offered with the Beaver is locked to the beaver and cannot be used with another aircraft. However, for those who have bought the WXAdvantage standalone, we don't want to overwrite your install of it with a locked gauge for the Beaver.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
Have retested all the panel loadouts the one I had an issue with was panel.rxp530_430_WX, . Attached is a panel.cfg that rectifies its problem .
I recommend not swapping panel.cfg files from one folder to another and where panel gauge entries have a // in front of an entry that they be left in place , " hot swapping " different units was done with those for testing and they are vestigial .
Best CJ

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
If it is any help I found the MV_WX.dl in my panel folder so I have copied it into the main gauges folder. I am running Steam.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
Thanks for posting the file, C.J., but it won't help me. I don't have RXP. I use the Milviz 530/430 and although it may work for you it does not work for me.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
I have done a little more testing. The MVAMS will allow me to choose None (no GPS) and check WX Radar. However, after saving this info and restarting MVAMS the WX Radar check has disappeared. In FSX the normal radio stack appears, but the WX radar gauge is not there.
In the configuration I usually use (Milvis 530/430 GNS) and WX radar, the configuration can be saved in MVAMS. In FSX the GNS and other radios work fine. The weather radar gauge appears to be there but clicking on any of its knobs only produces a clicking sound. The knobs do not move and the weather radar never turns on.
I do have the MV_WX.dll gauge in the aircraft panel folders.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
I using P3D V3.4, and I habe the same problem. I tried to use Wx radar to gether with the Milviz 530/430 or with the GTN 750, but the gauge in the panel is dead. Switches generate sounds but don't move and have no effect.

Same for me. Works for all GTN Panel setups. Otherwise WX Radar is dead.Simondix wrote:If it is any help I found the MV_WX.dl in my panel folder so I have copied it into the main gauges folder. I am running Steam.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
In P3D this move generates an error message stating that the wx.dll is not compatible withthe simulator, but the radar does function.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
In all versions of SE (FSX Steam) and P3D, you MUST have the most recent update(s).
If not, it will not work no matter what you do.

Re: Question about REX Weather radar installation
I do have the most recent update installed in P3D V3.4, but it doesn't work. I also followed all you advices about AV and Admin.
