Some gauges dead
manifold pressure, fuel pressure, and oil pressure gauges are dead/inop.
The fuel pressure and oil pressure warning lights are illuminated.
The engine runs fine and the plane flies so I am assuming this is a gauge issue....
Anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it?
Thanks.

Please make sure you have the XMLtools for the sim version you are running enabled during install .
XMLTools.dll will be in the main fs or p3d folder and there should be an entry in DLL.xml found in \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX
or \AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 depending on platform
It should read as follows:
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>
If not, run the XMLtools installer inside the DH2C aircraft folder for the sim in question (xmltools_201 installer.exe is for FSX).
Go to your user's AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v{version number} or AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ folder and check whether DLL.XML is present or not.
If it is not, and you have other users defined in your machine, go to each one's AppData\Roaming folder and check that DLL.XML is present in either Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v, or Microsoft\FSX\ (depending on platform).

Thanks for the reply.
even after running the 64bit xml tools installer there is no dll.xml uner AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4.
Any ideas where I might be able to get one from/how to get p3d to regenerate one?
Thanks.

Re: Some gauges dead
Hi,
Just do a search in your disk drives for a dll.xml file. At least one should appear, if you have other addons like ASA,REX,GSX, FSUIPC, etc.
The "good" one will be in USER\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 folder.
Check that the following is present, otherwise add it manually
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools64</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools64.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>
Finally, go to P3D main folder and check that XMLTools64.dll is present. If not, download it from here and put it in that folder.
Thanks!
Tomas

Re: Some gauges dead
Hi,
Thanks for this, Tomas. Have just spent a couple of days trying to figure out why Beaver and Turbo Otter installed in my new PC both had some dead gauges, and the Otter power lever was stuck in reverse. All down to XMLTools64 not installing and no entry for it in dll.xml. This despite disarming W10 UAC and anti-virus. No problems on my previous PC. Is W10 getting more difficult to manage?
All fixed and both aircraft now working fine.

Re: Some gauges dead
There is no dll.xml in USER\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 at all. This is weird. there is one in P3D v3, but not one for v4.
See screenshot. should I create one? Running P3D does not create one, and P3D works fine without it.

Re: Some gauges dead
So I found the Dll.xml in C:\programdata\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d v4. is this where its supposed to be?
It did have the entry mentioned, and I compared them they were the same.
Also xmltools64 is in the p3d root folder.
I just tried the beaver and it works now.
Something must have fixed itself!
Many thanks for your help.
Caleb
