I dont know if my questions below are due to operating error or product (installation error):

I am not new to FSX, but new to the Milvis DHC2 Beaver (have used the areasoft beaver earlier)
Have several newbie issues

1 I am unable to cold or hot start the plane, following the checklist accurately, I only hear a click when usung the starter switch, ( ctrl-E starts the plane as normal) what am I missing here.

2 when started the following gauges do not move:
cylinder temp. oil pressure oil temp, fuel flow and manifold pressure, regardsless of RPM
before start the the fuel pressure build up when hand pumping

RPM and fuel level works

3) autopilot apperantly do not work, none of the buttuns work, there might be a trick that I have missed, the softspot for adjusting the frequency on the radio is so small that its is anoying to try to adjust that, any trick here.

it sounds like xmltools is not properly installed
please refer to this post:
http://milviz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=137&t=7628

or: Problem: gauges do not work / unable to start (XMLTools)

Please make sure you have the XMLtools for the sim version you are running enabled during install .

XMLTools.dll will be in the main fs or p3d folder and there should be an entry in DLL.xml found in \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

It should read as follows:

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

If not, run the XMLtools installer inside the DH2C aircraft folder for the sim in question (xmltools_201 installer.exe is for FSX).

Go to your user's AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v{version number} or AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ folder and check whether DLL.XML is present or not.

If it is not, and you have other users defined in your machine, go to each one's AppData\Roaming folder and check that DLL.XML is present in either Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v, or Microsoft\FSX\ (depending on platform).

I use fsx:se and the suggested links where to check for xml.tools are not the same as suggested

When I follow the instructions above and run the xmltools installer.exe
I get the error message below:

"FSX not found on this machine!!
=====================================================
-FSX must be installed on this machine previous to install XMLTools 2.01

Press 'Cancel' button to exit"

and
the dll.xml exist in the folder: C:\Users\havga\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE
but does not include the lines that refer to XMLtools that is explained in the post above

Hi Havard,

The devs responsible are away for a couple of days, as soon as they return they will troubleshoot your issue.
Cheers - Osh
