Autopilot

Post by DwaOhio » Tue Dec 05, 2017 2:36 am

I flew today using the GTN. I put the GTN into GPS mode and the autopilot into Nav mode. The plane wouldn’t follow the flight plan or the approach. Also the localizer on the approach with the GTN In the Nav mode wouldn’t stay on course but the GS was perfect. I don’t know what I am doing wrong or why the GTN wasn’t communicating with the autopilot. I noticed that when the I was on the approach the plane went off course and didn’t do the procedure turn and kept flying. Please Help

You're not doing anything wrong, this autopilot isn't accurate when the GTN is the source.

The AP isn't designed to be used by a GTN... it's designed to fly straight and level. Trying to do other things with it will result in not so good results... (as per the real thing).

Did you read the manual? Becuase that is usually the issue. Really.

I know you may have looked at it but, please, take another look.

is it something what i don t understand : usually when you buy a plane for simulator you hit install ,finish and go inside simulator and enjoy , what exactly is it so wrong about this plane (beaver)that we have to :disable antivirus, disable user control ,replace dll here, replace dll there ,run under administrator ,use default aircarft ,etc etc etc , and plane is still not working properly ? right now i am looking at the plane trying to fix it from more then 24 hours almost continuously my eyes are already burning and soar and nobody knows how.....nobody have a solution .Is it this plane working ?

The manual says you have to hold down the AP button for 2-3 seconds before the autopilot will engage. Did you do that?

I did as well, hold the ap down
mine didn't turn on either. He's not the only one.

Now, let me clarify would it make a difference if its in the VC or the 2d popup?
