MV_WX.DLL is crashing FSX when I try to exit FSX [resolved]

I'm a bit puzzled....There is no WX Gauge entry in that panel cfg. You sure you selected the one from the correct folder? Which panel config do you have selected in the AMS?

Hi Jonathan,

I got the panel.cfg from the main panel folder under the standard MilViz DHC-2 aircraft.
I have the mv 530 & 430 radios with the Weather radar selected in the AMS.

I noticed that some of the dates on files are from before the latest update 171229 for example 12/14/17.
Should I try an uninstall before running the latest installer?

Unzip this into your Beaver's panel folder and make sure there are no other MV_WX.dlls in the other panel folders please.

Tried it with the same results, I even tried ending the flight first and going back to the opening screen before exiting and it still crashes.
Event viewer still shows the same info also.

Just to verify that there are no rogue dlls around, please put this one in your Beaver's panel folder and tell me if you get a popup window saying WX Test.

Just an update, I started looking at the entire post again closely and discovered that no where had you mentioned putting a copy of the mv_wx.dll into the gauges folder.
Somehow, somewhere, not necessarily on this forum, I thought I had read a post about putting a copy into the gauges folder, so I did.
Well today I decided to rename the file in the gauges folder to something the system wouldn't recognize, and lo and behold no crash upon exiting FSX.
All I tried was the Amphibian version real quick, so I would think all the other versions should work too. I'll try some more versions when I get the time.

If you can confirm that I don't need a copy in the gauges folder, I'll just delete the one I renamed, and we can probably call this closed for now.

You don't need it. Only if you bought the full product from REX and want to use it in other aircraft would you need it.

Thanks Jonathan, I figured it wasn't necessary when I didn't get an error when loading the plane.
Stupid me, I don't remember when I put it in there because I don't fly as often as I used to, but it seems to have cured the problem.
