Quite a few issues

Post by pbearsailor » Mon Dec 19, 2016 5:46 pm

It looks great and is fun to fly but I have a bunch of issues. So far I've downloaded and reinstalled twice and have reinstalled simconnect.

Regardless of how I set the menu, no pilot or passenger visible. Panel lights do not work. Nothing works on the range system--switches move but no audio at all and it is warmed up.

Seems like Bill said something at SOH about an entry in the addon menu--do not have that.

Running P3D 2.5.

Thanks,
steve

First, did you disable your AV before you downloaded and installed?

Did you run the sim as an admin?

Did you install it as an admin?

Is your AV set to avoid the P3D directory?

Yes to all of the above, Colin. Sim is also not installed to Program Files.

I know it looks like an AV kind of issue and maybe still is, but I think I've checked everything on that score. Never had an issue like this one.

Tried it again to rule out AV issues. Uninstalled the AV, redownloaded and reinstalled the Bamboo Bomber and still have the same issues.

Also, is this perhaps an incorrect build for the release? Mine shows in the 2D views a T-50 Logic panel with AOA on it. Surely not intended for the release version?

Are you starting from cold and dark or with engines running? It looks like if you start with engines running you still need to turn on the main battery and the generators to get electrical going. Also be sure you turn the RR set off and back on -- even if it loads up with the switch "on", it doesn't seem to actually turn on until you power cycle it.

Don't think the menu manager is working. Will not begin cold and dark. Cycle all electrical switches and no change. No pilot or pax visible interior or external. No menu entry in the addon menu.

Something isn't working.

Argh! That is a diagnostic display that I use when troubleshooting. I'll make certain it is removed in the next installer build.

Yep. Aware of that one with the 737. Not the issue here.

I have all of the same issues on my end (as I posted about in another thread), but I'm running FSX Acceleration - I don't have any firewall/antivirus program running, and haven't during the installation process. This is on Windows 7 and running FSX as Admin. I too was wondering if it is the correct release version that we are downloading/installing? I'd like to be able to confirm that all of the necessary files are installed and where they need to be in order to make it all work as intended.

After you run the installer, a complete log of the files installed is on screen. You can scroll through and select/copy/paste to a text file if desired.

Update: I removed the files once again and reinstalled the product, and this time I kept the MVAMS window opened, from the moment it was opened during the completion of the installation, through to starting and running the sim, and everything seems to be working fine now. I've re-loaded FSX a few times now, without keeping the MVAMS window opened, and it is still working as it should.

I'll give that a try John. Assuming you closed the installer but kept the MVAMS window open?

Yes, that is right. I was going to copy the text log on this installation attempt, as Bill had mentioned, but when I realized that I would have to go one line at a time, I didn't want to do that. So this time around, when I got to the end of the installation, I just selected the options in the MVAMS window, clicked save as defaults, but kept the MVAMS configuration window opened, closed the installer (by at which point it was surely completed), and loaded the sim with the MVAMS still opened. I hope that is what now allowed it to work on my end, as otherwise I don't know that anything else was different (I run the sim as Admin, and I've been running the installer as Admin, no UAC/defender/firewalls/antivirus at any time). Everything works on my end now, including the in-game tab, the pilot/passenger figures, the cold & dark/vs. running, changing of the instrument panel/radio options, and the cockpit lighting. I haven't yet tried the radio range finder equipment, but I would expect it is working just fine too (really awesome that this has been worked into the simulation!).

Didn't work for me, darn it. Same issues.

The MVAMS does not seem to do anything in my install, no variables change such as ready to fly or cold and dark. There is no entry in the Addon tab.

Is there an entry made to dll.xml or is everything running through the MIlviz module?

Need some help from Milviz. My frustration level is rising. This is an addon I really want to work.

Steve
