Add-ons Tab Not Showing/MVAMS Not Having Effect

Hi all,
I'm having a bit of an issue with the T-50 Bobcat in that I'm not getting the "Add-ons" tab in the toolbar of FSX, and the MVAMS configurator doesn't have any effect on the simulation either (i.e., switching between cold & dark and running doesn't change anything when loading the aircraft in the sim, it always loads with the props spinning and the main electrics and nav lights on). Such that I am unable to get any pilot/passenger figures to show up in the external model. I do get an "Add-ons" tab when installing other things, such as FSUIPC, but I'm not getting any tab with the Bobcat installation.
I'm running FSX-Acceleration on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (UAC/defender/firewalls all turned off, running as administrator for everything). I have the .NET Framework 4.5 and C++ 2013 installed (are there any other such prerequisites?).
I have installed/reinstalled the product several times without any change, including activating several gauges (when prompted) the first time I ran the product in the sim, followed by purposely deleting the FSX.cfg file to force the re-activation of the gauges in following attempts, but still the same result.
Should there be anything for the product in the FSX root Modules folder?
