This is a Windows error. MSVCR90.DLL is part of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtime Library from Microsoft. Re-installing should fix the problem

1. Press Windows key to open the Start Menu.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Programs and Features.
4. From the Programs and Features locate the installation entries for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729_6161
5. Look under the Version column and identify version: "30729.6161"
6. Select Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 v30729.6161 and click Uninstall.
7. Reboot the machine.
8. Download https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... aspx?id=29
9. Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 v30729.6161
10. Reboot the machine after successfully installing.

This didn’t seem to work, either. Still crashes flight sim x when I try to load Bobcat onto flight sim. One question: was possible that Windows Defender was active when I downloaded from website ( I had disabled Panda antivirus) . Could that have impacted? All antivirus programs, firewalls were inactivated as was User Account when loading onto flight sim program.

It may have caused a problem with Defender still active.

I'm not any kind of expert on Windows issues. Perhaps another team member has some suggestions.

That particular error code in that dll is usually the result of a failure to open a file, usually caused by not running the sim as admin.

I know you filled out yes in your report, but can you make double sure by right clicking on your FSX, selecting properties->Compatibility, and making sure Run this program as administrator is checked?

I have windows 7, so when I right click on properties it gives me several options (general, sharing, security, previous versions, and customize), but not a choice labeled compatibility

Yup. You clicked on the folder. I meant the shortcut on your desktop to the exe, or the exe itself.

I did check and I am running this PC as administrator

Referring to the compatibility page I mentioned?

Actually, I went through control panel and user accounts, where I was listed as the administrator. I have never been able to find a “compatibility “ label.

As I said, right click on your FSX application icon/shortcut, not the folder.

Right click on the shortcut icon for FSX. Click on the Advanced tab at bottom right:
