Nothing happens when I try to turn on Cabin Lighting. The switch flips but no lights. I have checked and I do have Milviz_Lighting _Service application in the …\Cessna T-50 Bobcat - Milviz\nightlighting\ folder. What is the fix?

Did you run the sim with admin rights?

Did you download and install the product with AV off?

Did you disable your AV from scanning your sim directory?

I run the SIM as Admin. I installed the plane with AV off. I blocked real time scanning for that particular file. My AV does not give me any warnings when I run the SIM with the T-50 AIRCRAFT chosen.

Did you download the file with av off?

Are you running the lTest version of the sim you’re using?

AV was on when the installer was downloaded, but the lighting file got installed. I will download again with the AV off and try again. I'll let you know what happens.

Removed old product installer file. Turned Firewall and AV scanning off. Downloaded product installer. Uninstalled aircraft using the new installer. Reinstalled the aircraft using the new installer. Ran the FSX (Deluxe Edition with the Acceleration Expansion Pack). Same result, no cabin lighting.

Does your product require any particular redistributable or runtime libraries?

You should also check Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and click the Processes Tab. Look to see that Milviz_Lighting_Service.exe is loaded.

I do not find the Milviz_Lighting_Service.exe in the processes tab of the Task Manager. When should it appear? When I start FSX? When I select the Bobcat aircraft? When I toggle the Cabin Light switch? It is not in the process list after any of those actions. What do I need to do to get this executable to load appropriately? I have Visual C++ redistributables for 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, and 2017. I can provide the version numbers if that is significant. For most I have both an (x86) and an (x64) version.

it seems that the night lighting service isn't starting. That means something is stopping it from starting. It's either you're not running as admin... or, your AV is still killing it.

In case anyone else runs into this issue and has the VS redist libs installed, as well as the proper simconnect, the cause in this particular instance was missing DirectX libraries.

The fix is as follows:
Download and run this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-za/downloa ... px?id=8109

It will want to extract to a temporary location of your choice. Once extracted, go to that folder and run the dxsetup.exe in it. That will install the correct DirectX libraries.
