T-38 ADV Afterburner flames

Post by endl3ss » Sun Mar 31, 2019 12:14 am

Hi,

The plane flies like a dream, and it is awesome in every way, easily one of my favorites.
But there is one little detail that nags me...the afterburner flames/effects. It works alright, but I think it looks weird. Some screenshots I've seen have more "realistic" looking afterburner effects, while mine....well, don't. Day, night and dusk, it's the same. To be clear, I'd like to get rid of the blue halo-like flame, and get more realistic-looking AB flames.

I'm running P3Dv4.4, PTA, Rex SF3D, AS+ASCA.
Fresh T-38 ADV install and download (tried to see if this changed anything), AV/Firewall off during download and install. No other issues really.

I've tried a fix from waaaaay back (2011), in the smokesystem part of the aircraft.cfg file, but that didn't really work, so...is there any way to fix this?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

Not really at this time....The T-38C will have much better burners though. This was much older tech.

I actually got it working, after a little bit more trial and error with the SMOKESYSTEM section in the .cfg-file. I'm sure there's something that might not depict correctly if I get an engine/AB fire or crash, but I don't do too much of that anyways these days. Looking very nice now. Not perfect, but I like it.

Along this topic, I wonder will the new tech be rolled into an update for the T-38A as well? It would be really superb if you guys could sync up the two versions of the T-38, so that we could get a consistent experience from the Aircraft. I have purchased both versions already, and thoroughly enjoy them. I plan on doing a few repaints tat are specific to each version.
