Novice - Engine out at fast speed

Hi,

I admit right away that I am somewhat a novice in helicopter flying and in particular the MD530.
I have made a number of great flights in the MD530.
During these I have tried to press the speed of the MD530 to its maximum. I have reached the 130 kts dashed line, but trying to press beyond this I get an engine flame out and subsequently a generator fail.
I note that the Torque at the same time is near its maxmimum.

Could someone help me understand what exactly is happening, why this occurs and how to avoid it (dont say fly slow).

Thanks in advance.

Stephen

Over torqueing the engine beyond its max power time limits is the answer.

Thanks for your quick response.
Glad to see I was not far off...
