Support Request: MD 530f Guage and Dome Lights don't work

Post by btacon » Tue Jun 28, 2016 2:45 pm

Team Milviz, my support need is stated in the Subject. To let you know, I have read the previous (multiple) topics on this issue, and have attempted ALL the remedies provided. Here is my setup:

Windows 10
Prepar3d 3.3
900 Series Nvidia card (DX 11/12 capable)

Milviz Install run as Administrator
Milviz Installed with Mcafee AV disabled
Prepar3d run as Administrator
Prepar3d Folder excluded from AV
Mcafee AV disabled during Sim Flights

Summary: After trying all the previous remedies, including ignition switch position, light dimmer position, etc both the dome light and the gauge lights fail to function. The ONLY light that works is my GTN750 which has the outer edge and controls lit

This is the only Payware Aircraft that I have which has these issues.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Braun Tacon

Download and install with AV disabled.

Make sure you're not running the estonia tool (the most likely culprit) To check, if in your task manager you see a FSX.exe... it's running.

You don't need to disable your AV during flights.

Thank you to all. Install re-downloaded and installed with no AV. Done.

Not running Estonia, though it is installed, but I enable / disable as needed.

I only turn AV off during simming to answer to this Milviz requirement. Same with number one above. No program should require AV off for download. Bad practice

In the end I still have no dome or gauge lights. Any further suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Braun

Check your task manager as it's almost certainly the Estonia tool You must not only disable it you must remove it from your dll.xml.

No, if it is disabled in his dll.xml then it should be fine. Disabled via its disabling system however doesn't really work.

"Disabled via its disabling system however doesn't really work"

I will try that. I am only using the tools on / off switch. Can I "REM" it someway in dll.xml? ; or REM or something similar?

TIA,
Braun

SUCESS: Thank you all, it was the Estonia. Edited the DLL.xml file thusly:

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>Migration Tool Plugin</Name>
<Disabled>True</Disabled> [added this line and chose "true" vs "false]
<Path>MigTool.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>

All is well light wise now. Thank you again!

Hi,
I had the same problem running P3dv3.4 and the estonia migration tool. I had no Gauge and Dome Lights.

Following your suggestions and disabling the estonia in the dll.xml as described solved the problem. So, I can confirm this is the solution for this problem.
Now I have the beautiful gauge lights working in the MD530. Thank you!
