Hi

Just wondering. Is the ADF radio modelled in the MD530? I am using the standard avionics setting.

Thanks!

Kind regards

Is there anyone from Milviz here? :?: :!:

Hello , in the multiple options available the free radio is the only one where that navigational aid can be used by assignment in its panel.cfg .

We have not seen a call for it often and unfortunately its not part of the standard kit provided.

My Thanks for your patience in this matter .

Hi CJ,

I've modified the panel.cfg to include the ADF radio. However the ADF needle is not moving in the horizontal situation indicator when tuned to the correct ADF frequency. The VOR needle in the horizontal situation indicator is working when the NAV1 radio is set! Please see attached image:

In this image taken in the vicinity of Rotterdam airport (EHRD), you will see that the NAV1 radio is tuned to 110.40 (RTM VOR) [see red circle and red arrow] and the VOR needle is indicating the direction of the VOR. The ADF radio is tuned to 350.5 (ROT ndb) [see blue circle and blue arrow], but the ADF needle is not active.

In the Milviz MVAMS I have selected Free Radio as avionics for the aircraft I'm flying. Can you tell me what is still missing in my setup?

Thanks!

Kind regards

Hi,

Can anyone please confirm if the ADF radio is modeled in the MD530? I can't seem to get the ADF needle activated in the horizontal situation indicator (see my previous post). I have added the following entries to the panel.cfg file:

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window02]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=2,2,2
size_mm=156,265
window_size=0.2438,0.4938
position=8
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL

gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Audio, 0, 0
gauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 0, 29
gauge02=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 2, 0, 86
gauge03=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio ADF, 0, 142
gauge04=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 0, 180
gauge05=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 0, 217
//--------------------------------------------------------

The VOR needle in the horizontal situation indicator is active, but not the ADF needle.

Thanks!

Kind regards

There does not appear to be anything amiss with that indicator , my apologies for the delay in getting back to you with a reply . I opened the model to see what variable is being read by it , nav 1 and nav 2 , in effect there isn't an ADI indicator .

Hi,

So the ADI is not available in the MD530, what a pity? Any future plans for this in an update?

Kind regards,

PBR update yes , looking at the assortment of offered gauges and supported gns gps systems not using an ADF frequency its unlikely to be added .

Sorry to have bad news about ADF frequency reception , at least PBR is planned .

Did the flickering wire cutters ever get solved. Aslo the start up is vastly different from the real thing. usually run up the rpm to 13 on the starter sequence and hold til the TOT drop back in the green. the start up pretty easy. This I have to manipulate too much throttle to get the TOT to rise. On the real ship when you intro fuel you drop the throttle til the TOT is in the green then throttle up. remember 745= 900 in the red there is only 10 secs before you have to abort start up.

Well, I haven't seen any updates yet for the MD530 so I guess it has not been resolved yet. According to Jordy there is an PBR update planned. Don't know what the planned release date is however. Hopefully it will get resolved with the PBR update. For now I've deactivated the wire cutters in MVAMS.

Kind regards,

thank ADF,
I will do the same then. I finally figured out the startup procedure to at least I'm consistent on that now :lol:

Sorry Chuck,
are you saying that the ADF gauge in the MD530 is only cosmetic? like a toy?
and that there is no way to have and ADF working?

Is there an entry in the aircraft.cfg file for the ADF?

{radios]
...
Adf.1 = 1 //must be set to 1 to activate ADF reception
