MD530 painting query
I'm engaged in doing a paint for the 530 and have run into a spot of bother. Namely, the little stabiliser fin on the tail section. The inner surfaces paint OK and the port side surface paints OK but the starboard side surface remain resolutely BLACK! I can see the red peeking out from beneath the black but no amount of hacking cures it. I've searched all the other textures for it but no joy.
This has to be a simple fix but I'm damned if I can find it. Last few hairs are being torn out.

Hello Jonathan. You've seen it and as a self confessed 'Milviz R&D Lab dev/Resident PITA Perfectionist' don't you have an answer? Or at least point me to one.

My sig also states that I am a coder....The kind of paint work you are talking about is well beyond my capability to handle. I have brought it to the attention of the big cheese though.

You're probably under the shadow layer... or the AO layer. Try turning off all the layers except the one that you painted. If that doesn't work, try painting the red on the top of all the layers and move it down one at a time until it goes black...

Hi Colin. I have tried that, first thing I did, but I'll try it again.

No luck. I've tried it above and below every layer in the kit. I still get this:

After a long conversation with Alan, aka 8055, last night, we were unable to find the answer. I give up.

Ron, do any of the supplied liveries show the same issue with a black fin?

No Bill, they don't. But don't worry about it, I'll paint the Beaver when it arrives.

That's what I thought Ron. I don't have access to the MD530 .max file or I could easily locate that pesky part on the UV map for you...

Well I'll be damned! I did look on that one(all of them in fact). Now I know why I didn't see it. I'll start again.
Cheers.
