Quick question on engine start...

I have a quick question while I wait for my access to the support forum. I was having problems getting the 530 started yesterday. the procedure I use is from the manual;
1.) Key on
2.) Fuel Valve switch in
3.) Battery ON
4.) Make sure Throttle is @ cuttoff and fuel ring is popped (out)
5.)Hit the starter button on the collective
6.) @ 15% -16% N1 begin introducing throttle input and watch the TOT.
The problem i'm having is that with this process is that when I hit the start button, nothing happens at all, no sound, no movement of N1. So last night I did some research and found a video on youtube that showed two additional steps before attempting a start. On the video after turning the battery on, the generator and fuel pump were also turned on. Could thee missing steps be the reason, I'm not getting any response when I hit the start button (i'm at work so i can't try it, but i was thinking about it)
