Aircraft Model Issues

Post by Wolfman » Tue Jul 05, 2016 3:09 pm

Hi,

I don't want to sound like a perfectionist and I know that you guys are still working hard on this aircraft, I just want to bring up a few issues I found with the aircraft model which I hope will be rectified on the final product.

1. I noticed that there are no exhaust stack fairings, seeing as this is a B350i.

2. Will the final product have the wire HF Comm. antenna and wire ADF Sense antenna that is visible on the C-12 diagram below that AFAIK is not installed on any B350i aircraft I have ever seen to date.

Kind Regards,

I am looking forward to seeing the final model.

Keep up the good work :D

The Rockwell Collins HF-9000 is an optional item and is *not* normally sold with a standard King Air 350i as on page 7-114 of the AFM it specifically states "If Installed."

I can't seem to find my factory options sheet for the 350i but I seem to recall HF radio being an optional item. I have seen them installed on mostly "special mission" ER aircraft and in a few rare cases a straight 350.

BTW the diagram you provided is for a B200 and not the 350 as the antenna mounts slightly different on a 350. https://www.beechcraft.com/customer_sup ... 1-9_23.pdf

I did mention that it was a diagram of a C-12, to be more specific a C-12D2 which is not based on a B200 but a King Air A200CT, which was used as a reference to show the antennas.

Most of the aircraft I have seen are like this, sans HF.

Image

Here is a special mission and it has a single wire, but without more information, I cannot say if this is HF or some special package.

Image

This one has a typical HF 9000 install, notice the double looped wire on the left side of the aircraft. Notice the forward wire attaches just in front of the air stair door as opposed to the forward fuselage as your diagram showed. I was not trying to start an argument on 200, A200, B200 ect so much as show you the attachment points are wrong trying to use a diagram from a 200 versus the B350i.

Ultimately the developer will have to decide if adding these elements make sense and is worth the increase in textures and triangles...

I'd say for MV to just leave it off, most pics of recently delivered 350i's are sans HF anyway. Got a buddy just hired to fly them and only mentioned the wifi.

BTW the B200 HF Antenna is mounted identically to the B350.

You are right, for the Collins Pro Line II they introduced the "short" HF antenna and this was carried over to the PL21 and PL Fusion. Unlike you original diagram the "short" HF antenna mounts in a similar fashion to the B350i.

However, you are the one who dragged up an older King Air 200 line diagram to show where the antenna should be mounted, which was incorrect for a King Air 350i. I was trying to correct that error as opposed to getting into a discussion of the changing HF mounting locations of the 40+ year running of the King Air 200.

Yes, but I only discuss avionics/fms with him and it is based on his requests for information.
