I selected v1.2 download from the product support page, but the download attempt fails (network error) after 243 mb downloaded (several attempts).

Typically our downloads are pretty stable. I upload/download several gigs of stuff each week from our servers. Maybe try a download manager or alternatively you can resume downloads on the newest browsers like chrome and edge.
