DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
I can load the a/c, but almost immediately get a DXGI error. I can fly other a/c without similar problems.
Also, some comparative performance stats v complex addons... (default scenery-same settings across each)
NGXu: CPU~80% GPU~70%
Q400: CPU~60% GPU~55%
KA350: CPU~80% GPU~90%

Finding the significantly increased GPU use for the KA350, (when cold and dark), interesting...seems its very demanding compared to other complex addons under the same conditions?
Cheers K

H/w accelerated GPU scheduling was already set to on.
I have a 2080Ti and you can see the GPU mem usage was 8163 immediately before CTD.
Here's a short clip showing the loading and immediate CTD -

Re: DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
Resetting the panel files and deactivating trueglass seems to have allowed the a/c to load and be operated without either a CTD or DXGI error.
On the performance front, I've noticed that running at 30fps pegs CPU0 at around 75%, running at unlimited I'm getting 42fps at 100% CPU0 usage. Anything above that is unobtainable at 4k, even with settings reduced - and on a 2080Ti!
Conclusion, performance is directly related to fps.
Should the performance scale like that dependent on refresh rate?
Thanks K

Seems I spoke too soon. @Slayer
After the first circuit flight went ok, I have now had 3 DXGI errors when going through the startup checklist.
I'd be grateful for any pointers because I haven't changed anything from the successful flight :S

After getting the controls worked out successfully, I am continuing to get DXGI HUNG errors. I'd be grateful for any pointers because I haven't changed anything from the single successful flight :S
At the moment this a/c is unusable and inop for me.

Re: DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
Strange that you are able to do one successful flight and then not.
-Did you install this after Dec 3 ( a Trueglass update was pushed out around then )
-Are you using anything to change your video settings like Nvidia inspector?
-Can you try it without using Afterburner or any overlays and see if there is a difference?
Your performance is typical of P3D, unlimited will always give better FPS but can overload your GPU. In DX12 that is not as forgiving as DX11 in V4 or earlier and can result in various DXGI errors.
Several others are having this issue while others don't it is puzzling. I still have a 1080 and can run this in V5 with no issues as long as I don't exceed my VRAM constraints (I don't think you are running out with a 2080Ti).

Yes, the successful flight was straight after disabling TG and resetting the panel files. TG is still disabled and I've tried resetting the panel files again without success.. :/
Yes, only a few days ago
No, no external apps
Will do

Re: DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
Just tried this morning after enabling GPUcrashreporting and it flew perfectly - no crashes at all

I'll provide the crash report logs in a new thread if it does it again....
Thankyou for your help and advice

Very strange, is that with running your overlay or without? I'm trying to find the common thread among these types of crashes (if there is one)

Re: DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
Yes the overlay was still active.
I uninstalled and re-installed the a/c, re-enabled trueglass and straight away got serial DXGI HUNG errors (reference newer thread)
The only action I took then was to replace the files in the LegacyRender folder. This seems to possibly have done the trick, as I've flown the a/c twice now with no DXGI crashes.
Now I've learned how not to break the engines so quickly, this is rapidly becoming one of my favourite toys
It will certainly keep me content until you guys get round to putting the Porter in P3D5...
Thanks, and absolutely no purchase regrets now

Re: DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
Glad you are sorted for now the consensus between here and TFdi seems to be that the Legacy render seems to correct it.

Re: DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
It did enable the a/c to run yes I agree. But, consider the weight of evidence on the other side.
I didn't get a DXGI error when I swapped the panel files back from legacy and it ran ok.
When I got the DXGI error the next time I put the legacy files back and it worked again - then I started getting CTD errors (no DXGI)
Today, I've updated to NVidia driver 460.89 and swapped back to the original panel files - and its run flawlessly for me this morning.
I conclude that while the panel file swapping is making a difference somehow under some circumstances, there could well be other factors in play as well, outside of your control. I'll keep monitoring, but I think it's too early to conclude that swapping the panel files is a universal fix.

Re: DXGI error on clicking battery switch cover/GPU use
Considering I have had zero reports of DXGI errors from AMD GPU users. I've been thinking there is some issue between V5/DX12/Nvidia drivers or hardware...
