ESIS turns on with no power [Answered - Not a bug]

Hi chaps,
Just a very quick message - I’ve noticed that the ESIS can be turned on in the MV KA even with the batteries and battery buses both off. Is that correct? My understanding was that the BAT BUS had to be in NORM for ESIS to operate but obviously you chaps know better than I.

If I remember from the discussion during beta testing the ESIS has it's own battery. It can get recharged if the aircraft is operating normally , should all avionics and electrical fail the ESIS can still be used on it's own battery. I can't give you an exact quote from any manual without a lot of digging but that is how I remember the discussion.

That's correct. According to the manual, the ESIS has a 30-minute backup battery.
