Throttle do not move KA350i [Resolved - XMLTools]
Hi all
I know... this topic was discussed several times... I read nearly all of them, watched tutorials, tried everything to get the throttles moving. But after nearly 3!!! hours of trying out still nothing is moving
I made it to assign the PROP-Axis to an axis of my Saitek X56. After a restart of the sim it does not work anymore
I'm at the end of my nerves... paying 70 Euros and I'm not able to even start the engines!
Maybe some of you has THE solution but if I don't get one, I'll try to get e refund for this product.
I bought it via ORBX and using a Saitek X56 for throttles and stick. I reinstalled it twice from ORBX...
Cheers
Tobi

Re: Throttle do not move KA350i
I finally found the solution... XMLTools64.dll was missing. Since I installed it into the P3D Main Folder it's working. I hope this will be solved on the ORBX Installer!

\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_King_Air_350i\Redistributables\XMLToolsInstaller.exe (run the installer)
Note if you are using V5 you will probably want to run the newest build released today:

if it isn't there your installation is corrupted. Please uninstall and try again as admin.

Re: Throttle do not move KA350i
On my second install of KA350i I specifically watched to see if XMLTool was install. The installer reported that it was installed successfully. Per this thread I checked and it wasn't in the P3D main folder so in stalled it as instructed. My throttle and prop levers now move but my mixture/condition axis is still not working. In order for the throttle and prop levers to work I had to both enable controllers in P3D AND assign the axis in FSUIPC. THis is very strange because these are suppose to be separate ways to assign axis. Also I don't think the two axis that are now moving are working properly. I'm getting an alert on my caution panel that my prop rpms aren't set properly and my throttle doesn't accelerate smoothly.tobias_schlegel wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 6:54 pmI finally found the solution... It seems I spend 10 times more time trying to get things to work than in actually flying with this hobby.

I installed from Orbix and have this same problem. The throttles don't move, not even if you mouse grab them, so I am now going to see what happens with the solution given above.
what to the directory and the exe is not there just a database engine and a vc_rdist, so no good seams there an issue with Orbx installs will now try an uninstall and reinstall very frustrating. the main reason I bought it through ORBX was the installer takes care of this stuff , well I thought it di , now I see its complicated.

Re: Throttle do not move KA350i [Resolved - XMLTools]
Right I have checked everything is at the right versions, using ORBX central I uninstalled the KA350i and then reinstalled it, as a just in case I ran Orbx central as administrator.
no joy XMLTools64.dll was still missing, so this is not a corrupt install, its a buggy installer, now what this means is I have paid a lot of money for a product that does not work and is unfit for purpose, I guess my only hope now is to try and work out a fix by myself, just a note I am a software engineer for Northrop Grumman so trust me I know about software testing bug fixing and product expectations.
I would love to hear from anyone who has installed this via ORBX and had it working just to compare to my own setup and see if that sheds some light on this. I can see I am not the first person to fall foul of this issue.
I think I am about 24 hours away from demanding a refund right now as after three days of not being able to use the software and wading through these forums to get a fix which is not working I have had enough.

Re: Throttle do not move KA350i [Resolved - XMLTools]
If you want to use the original released version, Please contact ORBX support on this as they have a slightly different install routine. There should be an option on Orbx central to install the XMLTOOLS. It was updated 2 days ago to correct this problem.
You can also download the latest beta 1.1.38 from our forum here as it is much newer than that version (realize it is a beta).
Your product key should be available on Orbx central.
Going to https://orbxdirect.com/account
Clicking on the product
Pressing 'Show License Key'
If not you will have to ask them how to get it.

Re: Throttle do not move KA350i [Resolved - XMLTools]
I got a reply from ORBX regarding this issue from there own people and even they have the same issue, there reply to me is as follows.
Hello,
welcome to the forums.
I am sorry, we simply do not have the knowledge base to help you with this, as Milviz do.
If you wish to apply for a refund, please submit a support ticket.
Please add a link to this topic to your request, so that Richard can see that you have
exhausted product support.
I would like to have helped you but mine is also dead.
I would like to try the beta before going down the refund route but cant for the life of me see where to get it from, can you help me with that?

Re: Throttle do not move KA350i [Resolved - XMLTools]
OK, final update, I found the beta and installed it, I noticed that it did install XMLtools, I ran the some and it works as expected, not really experimented but I could get it off the ground, so indeed the lack of XMLtoos seems to be the issue, if I get time I will copy WMLtools someplace, fully uninstall then install this via orbx which won't be working and then install XMLtools which I suspect will make it work.
So as it stands what I can confirm is that at this time if you buy this via orbx central, it won't work you will find that no matter what you do you will not have the XMLtools redistributable anywhere on your system.
Now I have this working I must say its been worth the hassle it looks gorgeous.

Unfortunately copying it alone will not work. We worked with Orbx to resolve the issue on their end so a new download from them may be required.steven777ward wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 1:45 pmOK, final update, I found the beta and installed it, I noticed that it did install XMLtools, I ran the some and it works as expected, not really experimented but I could get it off the ground, so indeed the lack of XMLtoos seems to be the issue, if I get time I will copy WMLtools someplace, fully uninstall then install this via orbx which won't be working and then install XMLtools which I suspect will make it work.
