KA350i Engine Controls Tutorial V1

Post by Slayer » Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:41 pm

This file from Taguilo has been shared in several other posts but the same issues seem to be cropping up in more threads so I'm making this a separate thread.

Greetings,

I have been trying to follow this instructional tutorial to calibrate
my engine controls and have not had much luck.

I have many addon planes and have calibrated them all with FSUIPC
and they preform perfectly however I am having no such luck with
this plane.

I have tried just about every combination of calibrating axis first
in p3d then FSUIPC then in MVAMS an I can not get the
throttles to work properly.

The power levers and mixture levers I have no problems with but
the Throttles are another story.

I have the CH throttle quadrant with six levers and should be
able to get all six to work but that is not the case.

I would appreciate any specific help or instructions in this matter

Thank you for your help.

Please see this post , it may help you. Another user reported he had to delete FSUIPC.ini to get it working.

Greetings,

I am still trying to make my first flight in the KA350i without success.

I have searched and tried every suggestion and combination of suggestions
that I have been able to find all without being able to control the throttles on
this plane.

I am deeply disappointed that this plane is not able to be calibrated in
any of the normal ways that most high end add on planes are. I have every major
add on plane just about on the market including several of the milviz other ga planes
and have been able to calibrate them all with FSUIPC and they preform absolutely fine.

I guess that I should have done more due diligence before purchasing this plane as it
seems that I am not the only one with this problem.

I have spent more than a full week working 3 or 4 hours a day or more trying to make this
plane respond and fly without success.

I guess that I will just chalk this up to experience and move on. I just too old to keep
putting myself through this frustration day after day when all I want to do is enjoy the
flight sim.

Even though I have several of your planes that I enjoy flying I cannot say this experience has
been enjoyable and will remember when it comes time for my next purchase.

I appreciate your attempts to help but unless there is a definitive solution I will be stowing this
plane for a very long time.

There is no need to suffer in silence and frustration, prior to this I have only seen 1 post from you. I've seen several variations of this problem and not all is the same fix.

We can start by asking which version of the product you are using. I suggest the latest beta from these forums or from the new download link that was recently sent to customers which should be the same as 1.1.40.

This problem seems to be limited to CH throttle quadrant. Have you tried the suggestion to make a backup copy and delete FSUIPC.ini?

You can assign an axis in FSUIPC but not calibrate the axis from within FSUIPC. If you have done so then odds are it will not work even if you try to undo it. FSUIPC must send only the raw axis data to sim to the throttle/prop/mixture axis events. The calibration is to then be set up in the MVAMS.

See this post: http://milviz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=11513 for more info on FSUIPC. Also others have reported the settings not saving in FSUIPC and reverting back. the only way to check is looking at the configs.

I also suggest you run the XMLTools Installer in the <\Sim Root>\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_King_Air_350i\Redistributables folder also as in the case of ORBX purchases sometimes it didn't get installed.

DId you run the installer as admin? Do you run your sim as admin?

Greetings,

I know that I have not responded to the last post and suggestions to solve my problem
but sometimes you just have to step away from something and let it rest a while. LOL

Since the time that I was having so much trouble I now have both P3d v4.5 and v5.2
with the KA 350i installed in both sims.

I think that I have resolved the issue of throttle calibration.

I did a fresh install of the aircraft in both sims and am using version 1.2.0
I deleted the 350 profile in FSUIPC v6 and using MVAMS calibrated both throttles, power levers and mixture levers
for my CH throttle quadrant.
I then turned on in the sim "Enable Controllers"
I then Calibrated the yoke for my Honeycomb Yoke using FSUIPC for the Elevators, and Ailerons as well as all of
the switches that I need such as elev trim, gear up and down, brakes and parking brakes.

After loading the plane all seems to be working with full ranges on all of the throttle, power and mixture levers.

All that remains is to make a test flight and see if things work in the air.

Thank you again for all the help and sorry if on my last post I seemed to be a little short but
sometimes frustration will creep out and I didn't like that so I just took a step back for a while.
