Fuel estimation issue after DIR TO

Post by henrik.bergvin » Sun May 24, 2020 10:28 am

I was flying a route and got a pretty hefty direct (over 400nm), but since then my estimated fuel levels are off by a lot:

As you can see, my estimated fuel at RW24 is 488lbs, but the act progress is showign it as -744lbs.

The route I was flying was:
WAQQ DCT TRK DCT BAXAL DCT VSN DCT PR DCT SAJ DCT LP DCT RPUV

I got the direct shortly after VSN, and took off with full main tanks, empty outer (so about 2800lbs, I believe).

Can you confirm which build you are using?
Thanks

How do you get to this page on the M FD? Have looked but can’t find it.

I am pretty sure it was .28, I haven't seen it happen on .29, but I haven't tried the same flight.

Today, on build .29, I had this same thing happen, but after selecting an ILS at my destination. I was still quite far out (3 hours) as you can see in the screenshot here: Image

I first chose the arrival with VECTORS as the "transition", that's when it happened. I afterwards changed it to FOMDA transition, but that didn't do anything to solve the issue.

Edit: Discrepancy just increases now, this is about two hours into the flight:

It's a bit tricky:
  • Set PFD to either ROSE or ARC mode (but not PPOS) by pressing PFD LSK L1 (FORMAT)
  • On the FMS, press the MFD DATA button
  • Then you have a variety of screens selectable via the FMS (FPLN PROG, NAV STATUS, and many more)
If PFD is in PPOS mode (where the route and waypoints are visible), when pushing the MFD DATA button on the FMS, only the error message "NO TXT WHEN PFD MAP" is shown on the FMS.

While we are at it, a quick question to the pros: is there a reason for this behaviour? Actually, it would be really nice to have the PFD in PPOS mode (with route and waypoints), while being able to use the MFD freely for anything else...

Hi,

PFD1 (pilot) and MFD share the same symbol generator, that's the reason for the message. Like in the real aircraft.
