Fuel Burn Rate
Hey guys,
Sorry if this has been posted before.
I am using version 1.0.6 at the moment, I am just doing a few long flight 1300nm +, i have noticed the fuel consumption is a little out. I was in cruise F310, 260lbs/hr on both engs, 1500RMP. Now to me that approx 520lbs/hr lets put it in as a 4 our 20min flight, lets say 3.5 hours in cruise, with a 30min climb and 20 min decent, not including taxi times and engine running on ground prior to taxi..
I took off max fuel as i wanted res. I took 3600lbs - 520x3.5= 1820lbs used in cruise. I dont know what the climb fuel is but i plan for about 500lbs that now 2320lbs approx, decent and approach about 300lbs. that 2620ish... that should leave me with approx 1000lbs fuel.
Today flight when i landed, although FMS confirmed something similar, the fuel remaining in the plane added up to 2700lbs - aparently i used only 900lbs for the entire flight.
I am about to test it again on a 1385nm flight, I will keep a much closer eye on things. However i find with shorter flight the fuel works out good and i land close to what i planned. Just these long flights.
I have also noted my OIL Temps get to like -9000*C and slowly return to proper ranger a good 2 hours into the flight..
