Noob Question Why are the fuel tank never full?

Post by dobleaa_nales » Thu Mar 12, 2020 7:00 pm

Hi everyone I'm new to the KA350. As much as I try to set the max amount of fuel it never appears to be full. Checking the fuel gauge it is always 12 1/2 fuel on one Engine and 12 1/2 on the other. Looking at the fuel gauge it appears it can reach 14 on each engine.

Because main Tank use about 90% fuel and aux tanks use 10% so if you not put fuel inside main and aux tank their never will be full... i recommend you take a time for read manual....

Actually the answer is much less complicated. The King Air 350 (and the 300 before it) uses the same fuel gauges as the King Air 200. Beechcraft Corporation always reused parts throughout the King Air line to keep costs down and reduce the supply chain requirements.

In the King Air 200T (the one with tip tanks) the main fuel gauge had to have enough capacity to show the fuel also in the tip tanks. Thus the gauges have this extra capacity that most of the 200s and the 250s, 300s, and 350s don't use.

Thanks, guys I was reading the manual and couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Now with this information, I think I'm ready to perform a long haul flight. I did two for 600nm, now I will try a bit further and push the KA350i to its limits. :D
