Aircraft System Failures

Post by Sharpedge » Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:03 pm

I'm loving the 350 and am very much looking forward to the next update. I've had a few system failures that are keeping me on my toes. A right engine failure at 300ft on take off was fun! A loud bang followed by various alarms. Might have over torqued it a little in the last few flights leading up to the failure. An interesting circuit and landing followed. On a different flight the next surprise was the gear failing to deploy (speed was about 170kts). Leaver was cycled and still nothing, no green lights! A go-around was instigated and the gear deployed with the alternate gear extension handle (about 3 to 4 pumps before I noticed the green lights). The gear held strong for the landing.

Was the gear failure written into the programme or was it a fault.
Even when I baby the engines I note in MVAMS that the green bars are dropping about 5% after each flight. Is this not overkill?

Started a flight yesterday, and at positive climb and gear handle up, they remained down and locked. Touch and go, then full stop, checking all systems and toggling everything in the add-on menu, nothing short of a sim restart made them respond. Failures in P3D were not active, and I still selcted to reset all systems in the failure window just to be sure, didn't affect it. MVAMS showed nothing unusual, and neither the sim nor the system has been changed in any way between the flight before and that flight. Next flight was completely normal, except that the Nav1 auto-tuner made NAV1 stop recieving ILS information. It identified it, but the guidance did not show. Swaping it all over on Nav2 worked fine, but Nav1 remained dead. Are these parts of a failure system or something of the sort, or are they just early version gremlins?

Hi,

There are indeed situations where some systems may fail, but not be regular. Please let me know if that happens rather constant.

About engine health bars dropping 5 % after each flight, sounds a bit too much. With absolute normal operation, engines will work for around 100 hours until a need to reset the bars.
