Terrain display - always green on altitude?

I do not know if it is supposed to be like that but the terrain display, when above the terrain is always showing green on the display. The map or HSI etc. is barely readable. Is this the same on the real PL21 because it seems strange to me?

That's the peaks mode of the TAWS. You can always turn the TAWS display off when well clear of surrounding terrain.
