Hi,

I just tried flying ENHF (Hammerfest, Norway) RNAV (GNSS) Rwy 22 Approach and got a little lost. This is what I did:

• Select RNAV STAR "LAPV1P"

• Select approach "ENHF RNAV 22"

At this point the arrival VNAV path disappeared. Only after changing the altitude constraints to fixed values (like /4000A to /4000) and setting altitude constraint at RW22@ to /0261 (runway elevation) the VNAV path came back, but at a descend angle of 3,9°, just like the final approach angle (I'm still on the STAR supposed to be at 3,0°):


Upon reaching HF401 (FAF) the VNAV path indicator moves to center but then disappears and the aircraft keeps leveling at 3000.

Is the aircraft capable of flying RNAV approach with VNAV capability outside the US? If yes, what am I doing wrong with the above proceeding?

Yep, happens every time at the last altitude constraint.

Then, how do I fly a RNAV approach?

I'm by far not a RNAV expert, but my understanding is that an RNAV only brings you to the last point and then you would need to fly visually down to the runway as per the chart information.

That's actually not correct. An RNAV approach that has vertical guidance (LPV or LNAV/VNAV) should capture that vertical guidance and fly all the way down to the Decision Altitude (DA) automatically just like an ILS approach if your aircraft has WAAS capability which the 350i does have. It's not supposed to level off at the final approach fix altitude like it does right now. Not sure if its a bug with the current version or the Devs just didn't model this feature.

On a post last december 25 on the KA350 thread on the avsim forum, they stated that LPV, SBAS, and WAAS will be added sometime soon.

The RNAV (with GP) must at least bring you to the published minimums. There you must kick out the AP anyway.
But we are talking about the last constraint that’s is present not the minimums.

...but on his flight plan there is no further point with a lower minimum?

That is the thing. Is the plane descending further to your MDA? no will not, it will level off.
